Citroen is a French car manufacturer and is planning to make an entry into the Indian market by next year. The first vehicle from the brand will be an SUV and it will be called Citroen C5 AirCross. The 5-seater SUV was showcased in the country few months ago. The SUV has already gone on sale in international markets. Here we have a bunch of reviews from journalists around the world. Let’s see what do they think about the new Citroen C5 AirCross. The video has been uploaded by Carwow, CarGurus UK and CarsIreland.

The first video is from Carwow.  The anchor is seems pretty impressed by the looks of the SUV. What he liked even more is the practicality of the vehicle. He is quite impressed by the fact that how much storage space it had on offer and also the flexibility of the rear seats. All the seats at the rear could be individually adjusted for more comfort. It even has a great boot space and the video even shows how much luggage can it hold with rear seats down. The ride comfort and handling was also impressive. Apart from some niggles the whole car seemed to have impressed the anchor.

Next is the review from CarGurus UK. They also are very impressed with the car. In this video, anchor seems to be impressed with the frugal diesel engine. The ride comfort and the suspension set up. He is even surprised the clever bits that Citroen has added on to it. some of the negatives that both the videos have in common was the touch quality of the infotainment system. In both the videos, touch response on the screen is not that great. Apart from those small issues, Citroen has come up with a great car that stands out from others in the crowd.

Third review is from Ireland by CarsIreland.ie. Here also anchor talks about how practical the C5 AirCross is and negatives like the absence of physical switches for air-con controls and lagging touchscreen. The air cushion suspension used in the C5 ensures the smoothest ride, but at higher speeds or corners tends to make the car wobbly. The anchor however likes the C5 as a package and calls it a sensible option in the market.

Citroen Review

When launched in India next year, the Citroen C5 AirCross will take on the likes of the Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Kia Seltos in the mid-size SUV segment.

Priyanka Gandhi, senior Congress leader reached Lucknow this Sunday and her convoy was stopped by the Uttar Pradesh Police for various reasons. Priyanka Gandhi, who went there to meet the family of retired IPS officer SR Darapuri, then traveled as a pillion rider on a scooter behind a Congress worker. The Uttar Pradesh Traffic Police has slapped a fine of Rs 6,100 on the rider.

The incident happened in Lucknow when the UP Police stopped the convoy of Priyanka Gandhi that was going towards the residence of the retired IPS officer. She was going to meet the family of the retired officer after he was detained by the cops for participating in the protests. After the cops stopped the convoy, a Congress worker gave her a lift and the video and pictures of the situation became viral on the Internet.

Poornendu Singh, SP (Traffic), UP Police confirmed that the rider has been fined for driving the scooter dangerously on the roads. The senior police official also added that the rider broke several other rules on the public roads. He was handed a challan for riding without a helmet, violation of traffic rule, a vehicle with a faulty number plate, dangerous driving and riding without a valid driving license.

Priyanka Gandhi Fined Featured

The Congress worker has been identified as Dheeraj Gurjar and the cops have allowed him 15 days to pay the fine and clear the charges. It is not known if the rider, Dheeraj was stopped by the cops to check the license and other documents at the spot. Priyanka Gandhi also alleged that she was manhandled by the cops who were stopping her from reaching the residence of IPS officer.

The fines handed over to the scooter rider is in accordance with the new Motor Vehicle Act that was implemented all over India a few months back. Many states including Gujarat rejected the implementation of the new act due to the extremely high fines for the offences. According to Nitin Gadkari, the road and transport minister, the new amended Motor Vehicle act will help to curb down the offences done on the roads, which in turn will ensure that the people do not get involved in accidents.

It should be noted that India is one of the most dangerous places in the world when it comes to road safety. The high number of accidents every year claim thousands of lives. The new act has been implemented by the Uttar Pradesh government and that is why the amount of fine is Rs 6,100, which is on the higher side. In the past, cops have issued fines to celebrities and other influential people when their pictures became viral on the Internet.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker introduced the Ignis in the market in 2017. It is currently the entry-level vehicle in the Nexa model line-up of the brand. The retro styling of the Ignis along with the crossover-inspired design ensures that it stands out in the crowd and targets the young buyers. Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch an updated version of the Ignis in the Indian market next year. Before that, the international-spec Ignis has leaked online.

Ignis 4

The Indian version of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis is expected to carry similar changes in terms of looks. The new images surfaced on SuzukiGarage shows the vehicle’s front and rear and the changes are not very drastic.

At the front, the leaked images show that the upcoming vehicle gets a revised grille. It imitates the grille of the newly launched Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. The Ignis, in a true sense, looks like a mini-Vitara Brezza from the front. To accentuate the crossover looks of the vehicle, it also gets a new bumper with an integrated faux skid plate. Even the fog lamp housings have been updated and they are larger than the current model. Other than that, there are no other changes in the front and it carries the same headlamps with the DRLs.

Ignis 1

At the rear, the upcoming Ignis gets a new bumper with reflectors. There is no black cladding on it like the current version of the car. There are no changes to the profile of the vehicle. It looks exactly the same as the current version of the Ignis. Even the wheel arches and the design impression on the C-Pillar remain the same.

The pictures do not show any glimpse of the interior but we do believe that there will be some minor changes that will make the facelifted version a little different from the current product. However, the vehicle is not expected to get any major changes in the cabin.

Maruti Suzuki had discontinued the 1.3-litre diesel engine available with the Ignis sometime back. Now with the BS6 emission norms coming up, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ignis will carry over the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine from the current version. It generates a maximum power of 83 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. The Ignis is currently available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The upcoming version of the car is expected to come with similar transmission options.

Ignis 2

The facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ignis is expected to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo in the Indian. Maruti Suzuki is also planning to showcase a slew of other upcoming products including the Futuro-E concept, which will be an electric vehicle in the future.

Even Kia India exports the Seltos to the other countries and it aims to achieve to export about 20% of production capacity. The Essential Guide to the 6 Most-often Replaced Car Parts

$
0
0

Automobiles have come a long way decades after the first car rolled on the streets. As simple as it may sound, a car is an extremely complex machine that has thousands of moving parts. Every morning when you turn the key of the car and take it on the road, there is a lot of work that is done by the engine and other parts of the vehicle that make the vehicle move ahead. As the parts move, they wear and tear due to the friction and eventually, they need to be replaced to keep the car in the top condition. Well, if you own a vehicle and use it regularly, you should know the common signs of a critical part with high wear and tear. Which are these parts and what are the signs that you might get indicating the need for change?

Oil Filter

Oil Filter

An oil filter makes sure that the engine does not get any impurities from the oil. Since engine oil and other hydraulic/lubricating oils can contain a lot of small solid and metal particles that can damage the engine or put extra stress on it, an oil filter should always be used to makes sure that impurities do not reach the most critical part of the vehicle.

A non-genuine oil filter may look the same, but the quality of the paper filter used in it may not be as good, which can cause it to tear. Also, the non-genuine oil filter can clog up quickly, which will obstruct the flow of the oil. Other than these problems, a local non-genuine oil filter’s gasket may give away due to the extreme heat in the engine compartment.

Using a non-genuine product will increase the engine wear and tear, substantially reducing the life of the engine. Since most the impurities will reach the engine, it will cause sludge formation, which negatively affects the performance of the engine and reduces the fuel efficiency of the car.

Using the original oil filter reduces the build-up of the sludge in the engine. It makes sure that the engine never overheats. It also increases the life of the engine. Manufacturers can void the warranty if non-genuine parts are used in a car that is still under warranty coverage.

Using original parts from Hyundai Mobis, the exclusive partner of Hyundai India and worldwide will make sure that hydraulic/lubricating oils reach the critical parts of the engine without any impurities. Know More About Hyundai Mobis Oil Filter..

Air Filter

Air Filter

Almost all the cities in India have high levels of dust in the atmosphere. This drastically reduces the life of the vehicle. However, air filters ensure that the air reaching the engine is clean and is free of any impurities that can damage the engine.

Low-quality and non-genuine air filters from local stores can cause the engine to malfunction. Since the low-quality air filters allow larger dust particles to pass through, the wear and tear increases and it reduces the life of the engine. Also, the performance and efficiency of the car drops drastically.

Hyundai Mobis genuine air filter increases the fuel efficiency and the performance of the vehicle by trapping all the dirt. It also increases the overall life of the engine. Know More About Hyundai Mobis Air Filter..

Fuel Filter

Fuel Filter

Just like the oil filter, a fuel filter keeps out the dirt and other particles that can damage the engine permanently. It consists of a high-quality paper that filters out all the impurities in the fuel that reaches the engine. This should be replaced regularly to ensure smooth flow of the fuel to the engine.

Using non-genuine fuel filter can cause fuel leakage and damage the engine too. Low-quality fuel filters can get clogged up quickly, which can restrict the vehicle from starting at all. Also, fuel with impurities can cause the car to idle roughly. Your vehicle may also not pass the PUC check since contaminants in fuel increase the pollutants.

Original fuel filter from Hyundai Mobis ensures that the fuel efficiency increases substantially. Also, engine stalling can be avoided altogether. The official and exclusive partner of Hyundai India, buying a part from Mobis will make sure that you get the original part for your vehicles. Know More About Hyundai Mobis Fuel Filter..

Clutch Disc

Clutch Disc

Indian market remains one of the significant markets for manual cars, and the clutch assembly is one of the essential parts in a manual vehicle. The clutch disc is an integral part that is placed between the engine and the transmission. It smoothly transfers the power generated by the engine to the transmission of the vehicle.

Using a defective or worn out clutch disc reduces the life of the engine and transmission. It should be replaced as per the service manual of your car.

A non-genuine part can be low quality, which can cause slippage of the clutch and reduce fuel efficiency. Also, the car may shudder as it starts due to the use of non-OEM clutch disc.

Since every clutch disc is designed differently, it is crucial to get the right fit of your car. This is the reason why you should always buy genuine products and buying them from Mobis ensures that it is a genuine product.

For your Hyundai car, always buy Hyundai genuine parts by Hyundai Mobis, an exclusive partner of Hyundai India and worldwide, ensuring the product is of high quality and genuine.

Brake pad

Brake Pads

Brakes of a car are one of the most ignored and most essential parts of the vehicle. The brake pads apply pressure on the brakes of the car, which causes the brakes to heat up quickly and slow down the car. If the heat of the brake pads is not swiftly dissipated, it loses its efficiency, which can increase the braking distance.

Now, not replacing the brake pads on time may cause damage to the disc or drum, which can increase the cost of repair by multiple times. It also reduces braking efficiency and increases brake noise.

Using non-genuine brake pads can cause the braking distance to increase by a lot, and it can also cause the brakes to heat up excessively and damage the other components. Genuine brake pads from Hyundai Mobis makes sure that the life of disc and drum. It also increases braking performance and makes the braking distancer shorter.

Using original brake pads from Mobis ensures that the vehicle has minimal brake noise and increases the life of the disc and the drum apart from improving the braking performance. Know More About Hyundai Mobis Brake Pads..

Timing belt

Commercial Belt

The timing belt is one of the most critical parts in the car, and it also goes by the names like timing chain and cambelt. It synchronises the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft so that the fresh air can come into the engine and the burnt fuel (exhaust gases) can be dispersed from the engine.

Every car comes with a scheduled replacement of the timing belt and ignoring it may cause the belt to become loose or even break. It can cause damage to the engine, and the car can get stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Since it is an integral part of the combustion process, using a non-genuine part may cause the engine to mistime. Also, affordable appearing non-genuine part can stretch and break, which will make the car stop instantly.

Hyundai owners are in safe hands with Hyundai Mobis since they are the exclusive partner for genuine accessories and parts for all Hyundai cars in India and worldwide. Be assured about the quality and longevity of the engine, when you buy genuine parts from Mobis It is always a peace of mind to get the original component that fits the vehicle from the manufacturer. Just like the Tata Tiago, the Tigor will also receive a full model change that will utilise the ALFA platform. The lightweight modular platform will ensure that the Tigor gets the proper sedan shape and looks different from the Tiago in every manner. Both Tiago and Tigor will continue to share the engine options.

Tiggo

To take on the Hyundai Creta, Tata may launch an all-new vehicle in partnership with its Chinese partner Cherry. Based on the Cherry Tiggo, Tata is expected to bring an all-new vehicle that will take on the likes of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta in the Indian market. The all-new car will be positioned just below the Tata Harrier in the model line-up.

MPV

Tata is also expected to bring in the Maruti Suzuki-rival in the Indian market in the coming years. Even this vehicle will be based on the ALFA platform. It will be one of the first modern-day MPV from Tata Motors in India. However, it may take 2-3 years to become a reality.

 e-vision mid-sized sedan

Tata showcased the e-Vision at the Geneva Motor Show but it will lead to an all-new vehicle that will become the rival of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City. Tata is yet to enter the segment and the all-new mid-size sedan will help the brand to spread the portfolio in the Indian market.

Mahindra Scorpio, it was launched in 2002 and ever since then it is one the most popular SUVs in the Indian market. Over the years competition grew in its segment, but it still has a decent amount of following in the market. Mahindra Scorpio over the years has changed a lot in terms of design and the features it offers. Recently with the latest facelift in 2019, Mahindra introduced an new base trim S3 which is the most affordable Scorpio. Here we have a small video that shows what does the S3 trim of the 2019 Mahindra has to offer.

The video has been uploaded by The Rajat Vlogs on his Youtube channel. Video starts by showing the exteriors. S3 trim of the Scorpio gets no chrome inserts on the front grille like in the higher trims. The headlight units do not get projectors and the hood scoop is not functional. This trim also gets a black bumper with provisions for fog lamps. The body coloured bumpers are available in higher variants.

Coming to the side profile, Scorpio S3 continues to get the black cladding which matches with the front bumper. It runs on 15 inch steel wheels without any wheel caps. The mirror is also is black and does not get body colour. It misses out on roof rails and body coloured door handle bars as well. At the rear things remain plain and simple with black bumpers, LED taillights and no spoiler.

Mahindra Scorpio Base Trim Featured

Interior of the Scorpio variant is very basic. It misses out on features like bottle holders on door pads, no infotainment system and so on. On the plus side even the base trim gets rear AC vents, and power windows and lots of other storage spaces. The S3 trim is gets fabric upholstery whereas the higher trims get a mix of leather and fabric material. The S3 trim gets Bench seats on the last row which makes it a 9-seater. The Scorpio is available in 7,8 and 9 seater set up. The S3 trim also gets dual airbags and ABS as standard which makes it decently equipped in terms of safety features.

The engine used in S3 trim is a 2.5L turbocharged diesel engine that produces 75 Bhp and 220Nm of peak torque. It gets a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard and is only available in a 2WD set up. The higher variants however get 4WD. Mahindra is currently working on a new Scorpio, along with Thar and XUV500. They all will also get a set of new 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine that will be BS6 compliant.

This motorcycle worth Rs 3.5 crores is more expensive than a Bentley: It can actually FLY [Video]

French automotive company Lazareth has developed a new motorcycle that can convert into a hoverbike and take you into the air. The new product LMV 496 was revealed by the manufacturer earlier this year and it has almost production-ready. The Lazareth 496 will come with a price tag of £380,000 which roughly translates into INR 3.5 crores, making it more expensive than most luxury vehicles in the market.

The Lazareth LMV 496 can run on the road like a regular bike and it uses an electric motor for that. However, whenever the bike hovers in the air, it uses four jet propulsion engines that provide up to 10 minutes of flight time. The jet engines powering the LMV 496 are similar to the aeroplane jet engines. The bike has an on-board Kerosene fuel tank. The company will initially build five prototype examples for the bike that will be on sale and can be bought by anyone.

Lazareth claims that they have designed the bike in such a way that anyone can immediately get used to the machine. It has a very comfortable driving position and a light steering. The braking system and undercarriage technology in the bike are inspired by other Lazareth vehicles. It rides on extremely advanced TFX Suspension Technology.

Hoverbike Featured

The four jet engines in the bike collectively produce around 1,300 horsepower of thurst. All the flight information including the altitude, speed, fuel level, position, direction and more are displayed on the dashboard of the bike directly. To keep the overall weight light, Lazareth used advanced Kevlar carbon composite to build the bike. Kevlar is a bulletproof material that is used to armour vehicles and make bulletproof jackets and suits. This also allows the bike to gain vertical height. When on road, the bike runs on an electric motor that can push it for 60 miles on a single charge. There is no role of the electric motor when the bike is in the air. The bike weighs only 140 kg!

Lazerath

The turbines come from JetCat and they can turn at a maximum speed of 96,000 rpm! The bike can be controlled through joysticks that are placed on either side of the handlebar when it is in the air. The bike can hover 3.3 feet above the ground, which is not a lot. But in the future, we believe that the brand will develop hoverbikes that can get above the traffic and skip the jams. We are not sure if any special license is needed to fly or ride this machine but since it is exclusive and the production is limited to only five units, the owners would not try doing stunts with it on the public roads yet.

MG Hector, the first car from the brand in the Indian market has become extremely popular in the market. Currently, the MG Hector is only available in a 5-seater version and yet it is quite popular in the market. MG Motors is currently working on bringing in the 7-seater version of the vehicle that is expected to be launched in the Indian market later this year. The vehicle has already been spotted testing on the Indian roads under camouflage and here are all the details that you want to know about it.

Hector Plus 1

The upcoming 7-seater version of the MG Hector is likely to get the name MG Hector Plus. Gagan Choudhary has spotted the upcoming vehicle testing the roads and the pictures also show the cabin and the pilot seats.

Currently, the MG Hector gets two rows of seats. The rear seats are bench seats that can seat up to three people. However, the upcoming seven-seater Hector Plus that has been caught testing on the roads gets pilot seats instead of the bench seats in the middle. It should be noted that the upcoming vehicle also gets a third row of seats that will be enough for two people. The pictures do not have the third-row seating though. We believe that the seats are not put in for testing purposes. However, the seatbelts meant for the last row passengers are clearly visible in the pictures.

The MG Hector Plus will be more expensive than the Hector. Also, MG will tweak the exterior to make sure that the upcoming vehicle looks distinctively different from the current model. That is why the model is heavily camouflaged. The upcoming MG Hector Plus may get updates like new split headlamps, a different front grille and updated bumpers with new foglamp housings. The changes are not expected to be extreme but they will be enough to make the Hector Plus look different from the Hector. The rear-end of the vehicle is also expected to get a few changes but the side profile will remain similar. MG may put new alloy wheels to add a different look.

Hector Plus 2

MG Motors may update the interior to add a more premium feel and look to the vehicle but it is not confirmed yet. The brand may continue to offer identical cabin and offer a similar list of features too.

Mechanically, the upcoming MG Hector Plus will get powered by the same engine options. Currently, the Hector gets two engine options – 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both will feature in the upcoming Hector Plus. It should be noted that MG will introduce the Maxus SUV in India that is expected to get a new 2.0-litre diesel engine that has been developed in-house. That very same engine is expected to be available with the Hector and the Hector Plus in the future.

This Volkswagen Beetle is actually a Maruti Swift

The iconic Volkswagen Beetle has been discontinued from the markets around the world. However, there are a few examples of the vehicle available in the used car market. Well, here is a Beetle inspired transformation job that looks pretty good and it is based on a humble Maruti Suzuki Swift. Here are the details.

The transformation job has been done by MAGNETO 11 based in Madhya Pradesh. In the past, the same garage has created a lot of extreme transformation jobs including a mini Gypsy. Nonetheless, this transformation looks quite good from every angle and the final product looks tempting too.

At the starting of the video, the work-in-progress can be seen. The donor car is the first-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift, which we believe was discarded by the owner.  The body of the Swift was removed completely and the new body was fabricated by them. As per the video, the whole transformation job takes around 10-12 days from scratch. The body of the vehicle is made out of heavy gauge sheet metal and it has been carefully folded and creased to give the final product.

Maruti Swift Beetle Featured

The car remains four-seater but it loses two doors now. The vehicle looks compact and gets original headlamps and tail lamps from  Volkswagen. As per the video, the headlamps and the tail lamps have been sourced from Volkswagen to give an original look to the vehicle and it does work pretty well. The cabin gets the stock Swift dashboard with black and red highlights. Also, touchscreen infotainment has been added to the vehicle. Moreover, to add a premium feel to the vehicle, it gets a push-start system but the key has to be inserted in the hole before starting. The engine of the vehicle remains the same. It is powered by the 1.3-litre diesel engine and nothing has been done to the mechanicals of the vehicle.

As per the video, this transformed Volkswagen Beetle costs Rs. 4.5 lakhs but the video did not mention if the cost of the donor car is included. The person who did the transformation job also said that they have done a similar transformation job on the last-generation Maruti Suzuki WagonR and they can do the same for any other vehicle if the owner wants. Apart from that, there is not much information available, especially about the RTO and if the garage helps to make endorsements on the Registration Certificate of the vehicle. It should be noted that this kind of modifications are not legal in India and any structural changes like these will require changes in the RC of the vehicle. In metropolitan cities like Delhi or Mumbai, such heavily modified vehicles can get seized immediately.

Tata Altroz premium hatchback: New teaser out ahead of 22nd January 2020 launch

Tata Motors has officially announced that the Altroz premium hatchback will be launched on the 22nd of January, 2020. The automaker has just released a new teaser for the Altroz, announcing the launch date, and also showing the car in multiple angles.

The Tata Altroz will be the Indian automaker’s first stab at the premium hatchback segment. The car will rival the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 Elite and the Honda Jazz. We’ve already driven the car, and Tata Motors has revealed everything there is to know about the car apart from pricing, which will be announced on the 22nd of January. Jump right into our first drive review to understand what the Altroz drives like.

The car will be offered with two engine options: a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated triple cylinder petrol with 86 Bhp-113 Nm, and a 1.5 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged diesel with 89 Bhp-200 Nm. Both engines get 5 speed manual gearboxes as standard, and Tata Motors could offer a twin clutch automatic gearbox sometime next year. An electric variant of the Altroz is also in the works. The Altroz Electric could be launched by the end of 2020 or early 2021.

Tata Altroz Featured 3

The car is based on the Advanced Modular Platform (AMP), which will underpin a range of upcoming Tata cars, crossovers, MPVs and compact SUVs. The car comes with a bunch of segment leading features including doors that open a full 90 degrees, a 7 inch digital instrument cluster, drive modes, wearable key and rain sensing wipers. The car is quite spacious and comes with a solid build quality that all buyers will appreciate.

It’s by far Tata Motors’ best effort in the hatchback market, and a cracker of the price tag is what the market is eagerly expecting. We expect the Altroz to significantly undercut rivals such as the Baleno and i20 Elite to drive home the value-for-money point, much like what previous hit Tata cars such as the Tiago and Nexon managed.

The Altroz will be Tata Motors’ first big launch for 2020, a year that will see a slew of new cars from the Indian automaker. The next launch will be the 7 seat version of the Harrier, which will be known as the Gravitas. The Gravitas is likely to be unveiled at the 2020 Indian Auto Expo, scheduled for February this year. The electric variant of the Nexon, showcased recently, will also be launched in India this year. It’ll be Tata Motors’ most ambitious launch in the electric vehicle space.

2018 was the year when Jawa Motorcycles made a re-entry to the Indian market and introduced two models Jawa (Classic) and Jawa 42. Both Jawa and Jawa 42 recieved a good response from the buyers. There was a long waiting list for the motorcycles as the demand was high. As part of their first year anniversary celebration, Jawa launched their model Jawa Perak, a few months ago. Perak has been officially launched and is priced at Rs 1.94 lakh, ex-showroom. Jawa has now released a teaser video of the Jawa Perak revealing the dates for booking and deliveries.

The tease video is basically the cut short version of the official TVC that Jawa had released few months ago. Jawa became the first ever manufacturer to come up with a factory custom bobber motorcycle. That too the most affordable one in the country right now. The Video towards the end reveals when the booking and deliveries of the Perak would start. Bookings for Perak will start from 1st of January 2020 and the Deliveries will commence from 2nd April 2020.

Perak is a beautiful motorcycle with retro looks  and the bobber like styling. Bobber refers to a type of motorcycle that has been stripped down and only essential components are left on it to reduce the weight. Jsut like a classic bobber Perak also gets a low slung seating position with rear fenders chopped to get a good view of the fat rear tyre. Just like other Jawas, Perak also gets a twin exhaust system which in this case is painted black and produces an aggressive note. The elongated swingarm, bar-end mirrors, matte black paint job all add to the character of the Perak and make it a distinct from the regular motorcycles.

Jawa Perak Launched 2 720x540

Powering the Jawa Perak is a 334 cc, four-stroke single-cylinder, fuel injected, liquid-cooled unit which churns out 30 Bhp of power and 31 Nm of peak torque. The engine is BS6 Compliant and also gets Dual channel ABS. The Jawa (Classic) and Jawa 42 are doing pretty well in terms of sales and have a long waiting period.  The Perak will have a dedicated production line, which means that the deliveries of the Forty-Two and Classic will not be affected. Test rides of the Perak will begin shortly at most Jawa dealerships across the country. Classic Legends will soon offer the Perak’s 332cc big bore engine on the Jawa Classic and Forty-Two models. The bigger engined Jawa Forty-Two and Classic will be pricier than the base variants, and will be launched in the second half of 2020.

If Jeep decides to build a Maruti S-Presso rival: What it could look like

$
0
0

India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki launched the S-Presso hatchback in September 2019 and they call it a mini SUV because of the boxy design and the SUV inspired front. With S-Presso, Maruti is targeting at a young set of buyers who aspire to buy an SUV but have the budget of a small car. In such a short span of time, Maruti has already sold over 10,000 units of S-Presso across the coutry. As of now it competes with Renault Kwid in its segment but, what if Jeep decides to come up with a mini SUV that will compete with Maruti’s S-Presso. How would it look like? That is what exactly Kleber Silva a render artist, shows us through one of his latest creation.

Jeep Mini Suv

The car in the image is a micro SUV which is based on Jeep’s Renegade Compact SUV. The front gets the iconic Jeep seven slat grille with Jeep badging right above it. The round headlamps with LED DRLs in them are similar to the one found in Renegade SUV.  Just like other Jeep vehicles, This micro SUV will also get a aggressive bumper with turn indicators and fog lamps integrated in them. Just like the front grille, artist gives this micro SUV a wide air dam at the front.

Coming to the side profile, artist has given a set of turn indicators on the front fender and ORVMs. The whole car gets a dual tone paint job to give it more of an SUVish stance. The ORVMs are painted black and the whole car gets a boxy design like Renegade or the Maruti S-Presso. The cladding on the wheel arches and the doors give it a rugged feel.

Jeep Mini Suv 1

Rear of this S-Presso rival SUV in artist’s imagination looks plain and simple with just a spoiler at the top. Apart from that there is just a Jeep badging and a rear windscreen wiper. The tail lights are again something that gets inspiration from Renegade. The ‘X’ shape inside the tail light is something we have seen in Renegade SUV. The bumper however looks like one from the S-Presso with parking sensors on it.

Jeep has not officially said anything about launching a micro or mini SUV that will compete with S-Presso. This is purely out of artist’s imagination. Renegade however has been an SUV that Jeep is testing and might launch in India in the coming times. It will compete with SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster in its segment if launched.

SUVs have become the new hot trend in the Indian market. Manufacturers are now launching products that are heavily inspired by SUV design including vehicles like S-Presso. Well, in 2020, we will continue to see the launch of new SUVs in the Indian market and many of them will be all-new products. Here are ten SUVs that will get major changes in 2020.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Maruti Brezza Facelift Render

Since the launch of the Vitara Brezza in the Indian market, it has remained an exclusively diesel-powered vehicle. However, in 2020, the manufacturer has said that they will not offer any diesel-powered vehicle due to the stricter emission norms. Maruti Suzuki will take this opportunity and will introduce a facelifted version of the Vitara Brezza that is expected to get a few visual changes and the new 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the vehicles like Ciaz and Ertiga in the Indian market.

Tata Nexon

Nexon

The first sub-4m compact SUV from the Indian brand, the Nexon has been a successful launch in the market. Tata will soon launch a facelifted version of the Nexon, which will follow the design language of the Nexon EV. We will get to see a new grille, new set headlamps and a few other changes on the outside. Tata may also tweak the dashboard to make the Nexon more youthful.

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai will soon launch the all-new Creta in the Indian market that will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and will be subsequently launched in the Indian market. The upcoming vehicle has already bee spotted testing on the Indian roads. It will get the same platform as the Seltos and will share the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options with the rival too. Look-wise, it will be radically different from the current version and will get a split headlamp set-up.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross

The premium crossover from the brand is currently powered only by a diesel engine. With the BS6 emission norms coming up later this year, Maruti Suzuki will launch a facelifted version of the S-Cross that will get a minor facelift with the new 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the Ciaz and Ertiga in the Indian market.

Hyundai Tucson

2019 Tucson

The facelifted Hyundai Tucson is long-awaited in India. It is already on sale in the international markets. The Tucson facelift will come with a host of new features and equipment along with freshened up exteriors. The major changes on the exteriors will the new sharp ‘Cascade’ grille, all-LED headlights, new fog lamp housing, new alloys and LED tail lamps among others. On the inside, the new Tucson will come with new driver-assistance features like autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera. There will also be a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the SUV will continue to be powered by the same set of engines.

Mahindra Thar

2020 Mahindra Thar Render 2

One of the most important new vehicles for enthusiasts will be the new Mahindra Thar. Mahindra is expected to take the wraps off this new off-road vehicle during the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. The exteriors, interiors as well as the powertrain of the vehicle will be upgraded. In terms of dimensions, the new Thar will have a substantially bigger footprint than the outgoing model. It will be built on a new chassis and will be powered by a new 2.0-litre diesel engine with a power output of around 130 Bhp. It will also get a hardtop version which comes as a piece of good news for enthusiasts. Apart from this, the cabin will also be updated and will get touchscreen infotainment and front-facing seats among others.

Mahindra XUV500

2020 Xuv500 Render 2

The XUV500 has been going on for long without a major update and the same is set to happen in 2020. Spyshots of the new XUV500 have already surfaced and they show that the SUV has a similar silhouette. Mahindra has taken the evolutionary rather than revolutionary route in terms of design. In terms of body dimensions, the new XUV500 will be larger in size and will get an updated front end design apart from cabin upgrades. Also present will be an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine that will churn out around 180 Bhp of power on this SUV. Both automatic and manual gearbox options are expected on the new XUV500.

Mahindra Scorpio

2020 Mahindra Scorpio Featured

The Scorpio has been one of the main products in Mahindra’s model lineup for nearly two decades now. It will get a generation update next year, something that was long due. The spy shots of the new Scorpio hint towards a more muscular design and the SUV will be larger in size too. The new-gen Scorpio will be underpinned by a new platform that will also be used on the new Thar. The exterior design will be on the lines of the current design but with enough changed to make it feel fresh. The cabin of the new generation Scorpio is likely to feature large touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control and parking cameras among others. Mahindra will use an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine that will be found on the Thar and the XUV500 as well.

MG Hector

Image result for baojun mg hector

The all-new MG Hector, which was launched earlier this year in the Indian market will get an update in 2020. The car will get an updated engine and the vehicle is expected to get updates similar to the Baojun 530, which is essentially sold under a different badge in China.

Jeep Compass

Jeep Compass Facelift 1

The facelifted Compass will be the next big launch from Jeep even as competition has increased by many times. The Compass, once fresh enough to do nearly 1,500-2,000 units per month, is now selling less than 1,000 copies per month. Therefore, a facelift is in order to boost sales. The facelifted Compass will be Bharat Stage 6 emission norms compliant, in both petrol and diesel. A 9-speed automatic gearbox will be offered on lower diesel variants while the exteriors will get a refresh.

Kia Carnival MPV teased ahead of 2020 launch: Toyota Innova Crysta rival

$
0
0

South Korean car manufacturer made its entry into the Indian market earlier this year with their Seltos SUV. Seltos became an instant hit and is one the top selling SUVs in the segment. With Seltos doing great in terms of numbers, Kia is now planning to launch their second vehicle to the Indian market. Their second offering will be the Carnival MPV. It will be a luxury MPV that will compete with Toyota Innova Crysta in the market. Kia has now released a teaser video of the all upcoming MPV on their official Youtube channel.

The teaser video just shows glimpses of the upcoming MPV. The video indicates that Carnival is going to be a luxury MPV with plush interiors and host of features in it. In the video it shows features like individual infotainment screens for the rear seat passengers and a dual panel electric sunroof. The VIP Seats and one touch power sliding gaes are also seen in the video.

Kia Carnival is an MPV which is already on sale in international markets. As India is a price sensitive market, there is a possibility that Kia might make some changes to the vehicle in terms of features when it comes to India. Kia Carnival is huge when compared to Innova Crysta. It has a spacious and luxurious cabin than that of the Cysta. Internationally Carnival is available in seven-seater, eight seater and an eleven-seater configuration, which shows how big this vehicle actually is. However India is likely to get Carnival in only one configuration.

Kia Carnival 2

Just Like Seltos, Carnival will also get a long list of features for both comfort and safety. On the international variants it gets safety features like ABS+EBD, ESP, traction control system, hill descent control, forward-collision warning and more such features. All these features will not make it to the Indian version considering the price factor.

Engine wise Kia Carnival Internationally gets a 2.2-litre e-VGT diesel engine that generates a maximum of 199 Bhp and 441 Nm of peak torque and a 3.3L petrol engine producing 276 Bhp and 336 Nm of torque. However Carnival is most likely to get the diesel engine when it is launched in India. Price wise Carnival is likely to be placed higher than Toyota Innova Crysta. Kia will be launching the Carnival MPV in 2020 and will showcase it in the upcoming Auto Expo in February. The Carnival is likely to be pricier than the Innova.

Police IG’s Toyota Fortuner fined DOUBLE for zebra crossing violation!

$
0
0

The new Motor Vehicle was implemented in India last year. It created quite a buzz and motorists displayed resistance against the new laws that increase the fine amounts several times. Well, the new amended MV Act is currently applicable to many states and union territories across India. Under the new laws, the authorities can impose double fine amount on the government officials and police personnel. Here is something similar that happened in Chandigarh.

Fortuner 1

The incident happened near the Hallomajra traffic signal at 8:30 AM on Saturday. A Toyota Fortuner that belongs to the Special Protection Unit of Punjab Police was spotted stopping after the zebra crossing on a red light. A commuter took the picture of the vehicle and shared it with Chandigarh Police on the social media platform -Twitter. The traffic police department of Chandigarh then created a Traffic Violation Information Slip against the vehicle.

It should be noted that the Toyota Fortuner in the picture is registered to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Special Protection Unit. However, it is not known if the IG uses the vehicle personally or it is a part of the convoy. Most police departments get their vehicles registered to the senior officials of the team.

The fine for not stopping before a zebra crossing is Rs 500 but since this vehicle belongs to the Punjab Police, a double fine has to be paid by the lawbreaker. A driver of Punjab Police was in control of the vehicle when the incident happened.

Fortuner

We tried getting more details on the traffic challan and the fine. The online records show the violation and there is a pending fine of Rs 500. However, we believe that the violator will have to pay Rs 1,000, which is double the amount of the fine. Since this is a new law, it is quite possible that there is no way of making the fine double for the police officers and other government officials. However, the violator will have to pay the double amount.

The new laws were implemented across India to make sure that everyone follows the traffic rules. India is one of the most dangerous countries in the world because of the high number of accidents and fatalities every day. The increased fines for violation is a way to make sure that the motorists stick to the rules, which in turn will bring down the number of casualties on the roads. Indian roads witness a high number of accidents every year and most of these accidents become fatal. Under the new law, the government has increased the fines by multiple times. However, due to strong protest against the new laws, a few state governments have rolled back the fines.
