Tata Motors will launch the Altroz premium hatchback in days from now. The car will rival the likes of the Maruti Baleno and the Hyundai Elite i20 in a hotly contested segment, and will be the first premium hatchback from the Indian automaker – best known for making trucks and SUVs. With the Altroz, Tata Motors is seeking to break new ground, not just in terms of design and the feature-set on offer but also in terms of the sheer safety that the car offers. Bookings for the Altroz are now open across all Tata Motors dealerships in India, and the automaker has just put out a bunch of promos highlighting 3 key reasons stating why you must book the car now.
- With the launch slated for January 22nd, booking the Altroz immediately will put you ahead of others when it comes to actual deliveries of the car. In other words, you’ll get to jump most of the queue that is likely to form once the car is actually launched.
- The booking is fully refundable, which means that you have nothing to lose even if you change your mind after launch.
- Test drives are already available, and this should give you a good look and feel for the car. The only thing that now remains to be seen is the pricing, which going by Tata Motors’ history, is likely to be ultra competitive. Don’t be surprised if Tata ends up pricing the Altroz close to the smaller Maruti Swift rather than the larger Baleno – a car that it actually competes with – in order to drive home the value-for-money factor.
- The Tata Altroz has a slew of segment leading features and attributes that we’ll expand upon below.
A key selling point of the Tata Altroz is its 5 star safety rating. Days ago, the Global NCAP, an independent crash test safety rating agency, indicated that the Altroz scored a perfect ‘5 star’ rating in crash tests, making it the only hatchback in India to have achieved this rating. In other words, the Altroz is the safest car in its class.
Other segment leading features in the Tata Altroz includes doors that open a full 90 degrees, making getting in and out of the car a very comfortable experience, multiple driving modes that the competition does not offer, mood lighting and a flat rear floor, and finally Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) compliant petrol and diesel engine options.
