The Seltos SUV was the first offering from South Korean manufacturer Kia Motors. It was launched in India last year and became quite popular among the buyers in a very short span of time. One of the main reason behind the popularity was the way Seltos looks. The higher variants gets all LED headlamps, tail lights, indicators that make it look more premium and on the inside it has a host of features which made the driver and passengers comfortable. That is the case with higher variants. However how does the base variant of Seltos look like?. Here we have couple of videos that show how base variant of the Seltos feels like.
Both the videos have been uploaded by Jantaa Garage Youtube channel. The video starts by showing the front of the car and there is a huge difference from what we get to see on higher trims. The bling factor is missing and it does not get all LED headlamps and LED DRLs also. However it gets projector type headlamp with chrome strips running above the headlamp and around the front grille. It even misses out fog lamps.
Coming to the side profile, it gets inch steel wheels, manually adjustable ORVMs and does not get roof rails unlike higher variants. From the rear, the Seltos base model again looks plain and simple with no chrome on bumper and normal tail lamp set up instead of LEDs. The video also shows the boot space of the car. Even the base variant gets central locking.
The second video shows the interiors of the Seltos base variant. It starts by showing the door pads and shows the power window switches. The base variant gets speaker on all four doors. The steering wheel is a multi function one with buttons for audio system controls and other controls on it. The dashboard again looks plain and simple with lots of soft touch plastic on it.
The music system in the base variant is quite simple and does not get the touchscreen infotainment system. The switches for manual AC controls can also be seen in the video and the fabric seats are also seen. Kia Seltos is available with a variety of engine options. A 1.5 liter petrol, a 1.5 liter diesel and a 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine. All the engines get an option of automatic transmission along with manual transmission, for added convenience. Price for Kia Seltos now starts at Rs. 10.19 lakh, ex-showroom.
