Tata Nexon, Tigor & Tiago BS6 cars launched in India

Tata Motors has introduced its BS6 range of vehicles in the Indian market. The manufacturer has updated the vehicles while launching the BS6 compliant versions of Nexon, Tiago and the Tigor in the Indian market. All three cars are launched at an introductory price. The Tata Tiago is priced at Rs 4.6 lakhs while the Tata Tigor is priced at Rs 5.75 lakhs. Both the models are now more expensive than the BS4 compliant models. Tata Nexon facelift BS6 is priced at Rs 6.95 lakhs.

The Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor have received 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP, making them the safest vehicles to buy in the segment. All the three cars, Nexon, Tiago and Tigor have received a facelifted. The Tiago and Tigor have received a similar facelift with a new grille, headlamps and grille. Both the cars also offer raised bonnet and redesigned bumper and tail light inserts. The cabin gets new fabric and seat upholstery.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Guenter Butschek, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Motors, said, “Today is when we start writing a new chapter. With the class defining, new premium hatchback, Altroz, we are expanding our market coverage further. We have lots more in store for 2020 and we have just commenced unveiling our well-defined future product portfolio.”

Tigor 1

Both Tiago and Tigor will now offer the BS6 compliant 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The 1.05-litre diesel engine has been dropped from the line-up. Both Tiago and Tigor offer 5-speed manual as well as the 5-speed AMT automatic transmission.

Coming to the Tata Nexon facelift, it also receives a new front-end and new bumper among other panels. The Nexon will offer both petrol and diesel engine options. However, the price of the BS6 compliant Nexon is priced Rs 22,000 higher than the petrol variants and Rs 56,000 higher than the diesel variant. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces a maximum of 110 PS and 170 Nm while the diesel variants get the 1.5-litre engine that produces a maximum of 110 PS and 260 Nm. Both the engine options get the AMT and manual transmission options.
