Honda cars India recently launched BS6 version of their popular City sedan. This is one of the most popular sedan in the segment. It competes with cars like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, VW Vento. Honda city is currently available with a BS6 engine in the petrol version. The diesel engine is expected to be introduced in the line up soon. Here we have a walkaround video of the new BS6 Honda City top-end ZX trim.
The video has been uploaded by Team Car Delight on their youtube channel. The video starts by showing the exterior of the car with LED headlamps, DRLs, chrome grille at the front sporty looking bumper with LED fog lamps in it and so on. Being the top-end trim, City ZX gets all the bells the whistles like sharp looking dual tone alloy wheels, auto fold ORVMS, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, LED tail lamps, and so on.
Design wise nothing has changed in the new BS6 Honda City from the outside. Inside, the interiors gets a black and beige interior with leather seats that make the cabin look airy. It gets touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Honda call their touchscreen system as Digipad and it is now available in V, VX and ZX trims of BS6 version. Apart from that nothing has changed and the cabin of the city remains as spacious as ever before.
The only change that has occurred to Honda City this time is the engine. The petrol engine of the City sedan now compliant to the upcoming emission norms. Honda City petrol is powered by 1.5 litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine that produces 117 Bhp and 145 Nm of torque. The petrol variant is available with both manual and a CVT automatic gearbox as an option.
Honda City’s BS4 diesel engine is a 1.5 litre unit producing 97 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. It is only available with a manual gearbox. Honda will soon be introducing a BS6 diesel variant too. Honda City’s petrol BS6 variant is only marginally expensive than the older BS4 model. Price for BS6 petrol City now starts at Rs 9.91 lakh and Rs 14.31 lakh, ex-showroom.
Honda has already launched next-gen City in Thailand and other international markets and will soon make it’s way to Indian market as well. internationally, the new City is available with 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engine along with a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine for the RS variants.
