Mahindra launched the much-awaited all-new Thar earlier this year and the demand for the vehicle has gone through the roof. While there are many customers who have received the delivery of the all-new Thar, there are still many more who are waiting for the delivery. Nonetheless, the Mahindra Thar has always remained one of the most modified vehicles in the Indian market for a long time. While we have already shown you various minor modifications based on the Thar, here is the first one that gets a few major modifications. This modification job was done by Taran Bimbra of Bimbra 4X4, who is also working on developing new products for the all-new Thar. Here are the details.

To start with, the stock front bumper has been removed and replaced with a full metal bumper. As per the modder, it is mounted to the chassis of the vehicle and also has functional shackles that can be used to tow any other vehicle or recover the vehicle during off-roading. The stock fog lamps have been integrated into the bumper itself. This bumper is also compatible with a winch, which means, that you can install an electric winch to make it even more capable. However, this bumper has not been tested for airbags but Bimbra 4X4 is already working on a version of a version, which will be able to trigger the airbags without any delay during an accident.

The other most significant change done to this vehicle is the front grille. A Jeep Wrangler inspired grille has been made for this Mahindra Thar that is made out of Fibre-reinforced Plastic (FRP) and no alteration is required to install this bumper. Also, the grille can be painted in any kind of colour combination according to the choice of the customer. There is a mesh behind the grille, which will keep the small insects out of the radiator.

The stock skid plate has been replaced with mild steel but it is much sturdier too. This skid plate is not yet compatible with the stock bumper but Bimbra 4X4 is working on a new one, which will be compatible even with the stock bumper.

There are even armrests in the rear. The armrest is mounted on the wheel arches. There is a lot of empty space in the stock Thar, which has now been utilised with an armrest and storage space. No holes were made to install this armrest in the rear.

The prices for these accessories are not known yet. However, Bimbra 4X4 says that these are prototype products and the final prices will be revealed once the products are ready for mass production. There will be many more aftermarket accessories to be offered by the modification garage in the future.

The all-new Mahindra Thar currently has a waiting period of weeks depending on the location, variant and engine option. The all-new Thar offers diesel as well as petrol engine options. Both the engine options offer manual and automatic transmission options. All the variants of the Mahindra Thar get 4X4 with low-ratio transfer case.
