Mr Kookhyun Shim, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Kia Motors India said,
“I am delighted to witness the wide acceptance we have received in India for our vehicles. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, we were quite hopeful about the festive month and the results are overwhelming. Not only urban, but customers from tier II, III, and IV markets too are acknowledging the need for personal mobility to maintain personal safety. While there is still a lot of uncertainty in the market due to the pandemic, the overall consumer sentiment has significantly improved and we are all prepared to offer a safe and hassle-free ownership experience to our customers. We are expecting the market sentiment to improve more in coming months and we are confident that we will be able to continue this positive momentum in future as well.”
Kia Sonet is currently the most affordable car in the segment with the base version priced at Rs 6.71 lakh. It is available in two major trims – Tech Line and GT Line, just like the Seltos. The Tech Line variants get the Wastegate Turbocharger with the 1.5-litre diesel engine. It generates a maximum power of 99 Bhp while the top-end GTX+ version gets the Variable Geometry Turbocharger, which ensures a maximum power of 115 PS, making it the most powerful diesel car in the segment.
Kia also offers a range of segment-first features with the Sonet. It gets a massive 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which is the biggest in the segment. It plays through a 7-speaker system from Bose and also gets the connected ambient light system that dances according to the music played.
