Jaguar & Land Rover reliability issues to be resolved soon: CEO Thierry Bollore

Land Rover and Jaguar are some of the popular luxury cars and UV manufacturer in the world. For some time, both these Tata owned luxury car brand were having certain reliability issues. This is not something that a customer buying a luxury product would be expecting from the brand. Thierry Bollore, who was appointed as the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover last year has promised to look into the reliability issues and come up with a solution to resolve this issue once and for all.

 

Bollore recently introduced a new plan or strategy- ‘Reimagine’. This is aimed at rebuilding the business and turning around company’s fortune. He had already mentioned that resolving the quality and reliability issues are his first priority and he has already started seeing a lot of progress and there is a lot more to do.

There are also reports that Thierry Bollore will be overhauling the way how Jaguar and Land Rover develops its models. They will relying or making use of technology to get rid of the current quality issues. This would help them improve the quality of their products in future. A month just after being appointed as the CEO, Bollore also hired Nigel Blenkinsop as an executive director of company quality & customer satisfaction. Nigel Blenkinsop will be reporting directly to Bollore and will be responsible for the whole value chain.

Jaguar and Land Rover models have been reported with quality and reliability issues globally. Poor performance in Chinese market had lead to protests outside Jaguar and Land Rover’s Shanghai headquarters back in 2018. In a recent reliability survey, Land Rover ranked last out of 31 car makers. Land Rover scored 78.2 percent which is almost 10 percent worse than the brand ranking above it.

British multinational automotive company Jaguar and Land Rover which produces luxury vehicles and sport utility vehicles is a part of Indian automotive company Tata Motors Limited. Tata bought Jaguar and Land Rover in 2008 and it was after that these brands became popular in Indian market. Both Jaguar and Land Rover have a variety of products in the Indian market. While Jaguar concentrates on luxury and performance oriented cars, Land Rover is known for making luxury and off-road SUVs.

All the models that are currently sold in India are manufactured in Britain and are assembled here in India. If Jaguar and Land Rover would have manufactured these models in India, it would have made it a lot more cheaper than the current price. Models that Jaguar currently offers in our market are XE, XF, F-Pace, F-Type and I-Pace. Land Rover offers models like Range Rover Evoque, Discovery Sport, Defender 90 and 110, Discovery, Velar, Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Range Rover SUV. Last year, Land Rove launched the all-new Defender in the market and it quickly became popular in the market. Defender is a vehicle that has cult following. Many celebrities and off-road enthusiasts have already bought this SUV.
