It looks like more and more Indian businessmen are upgrading to really expensive cars. The latest on this front comes from Kerala, where Mr. Joy Alukkas, chairman and managing director of Joyalukkas Group, recently picked up his new ride, a Rolls Royce Cullinan. According to the post, this is the seventh Rolls Royce Cullinan in Kerala.

The video of Joy Alukkas’s new Rolls Royce Cullinan has been shared by EISK 77 on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a blue Rolls Royce Cullinan slowly moving out through a driveway. The car is finished in Salamanca Blue, and it is said that the interior is finished in Moccasin shade. The whole car is finished in this beautiful shade with golden pinstriping.
The Cullinan is Rolls Royce’s first-ever SUV to be launched in the market, and it gained attention from rich buyers almost immediately. Several Indian celebrities and popular personalities have bought this luxury SUV. The SUV seen here is the regular version and not the more expensive Black Badge variant.
The Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV is powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged petrol engine that generates 569 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission. Just like any other Rolls Royce model, the Cullinan is designed to offer utmost comfort to the occupants. The incredible ride quality, extremely silent cabin, and creature comforts are all offered by the brand.
Like most luxury cars, Rolls Royce offers customization options to its customers. Depending on the customizations, the price of the SUV goes up. The price for a standard Cullinan starts at Rs 6.95 crore, ex-showroom.
This is not Mr. Joy Alukkas’ first Rolls Royce. He already owns a Series 1 Rolls Royce Ghost luxury sedan among other luxury cars in his garage. Mr. Alukkas’ son John Alukkas is also a car enthusiast and owns expensive and exotic cars like Lamborghini Huracan, Porsche 911, Toyota Land Cruiser LC300, the current generation Mahindra Thar, and a Kawasaki Ninja superbike.
It’s Raining Cullinans in Kerala
It looks like rich businessmen from Kerala are now after this luxury SUV. Kerala at the moment has a total of 7 Cullinan SUVs, including a Black Badge in Magma Red shade. One of the recent reports that we came across from Kerala was of Kalyan Jewellers owner T. S. Kalyanaraman. He is a big-time Rolls Royce fan and decided to buy not one but three Rolls Royce Cullinan SUVs. Two of them are the regular ones, whereas the third one is the more expensive Black Badge variant. Lulu group owner M. A Yusuf Ali also owns a Rolls Royce Cullinan in Blue shade.

Mr. Kalyanaraman has a soft corner for Rolls Royce cars, and even the last time he went car shopping, he bought three Rolls Royce Phantom models. He has one Rolls-Royce Phantom Series I and two Phantom Series II models in his collection.
He also owns an Embraer Legacy 650 private jet worth Rs 178 crore, and a Bell 427 helicopter manufactured in Canada worth Rs 48 crore. Coming back to the Cullinan Black Badge, the price for this starts at around Rs 10 crore, ex-showroom. The Black Badge version is powered by the same engine as the regular version; however, it is tuned differently. It generates 29 PS and 50 Nm more power and torque than the regular Cullinan.
