Mercedes Benz has launched the most affordable AMG cars in its line up – the facelifted CLA45 AMG and the facelifted GLA45 AMG. Both the cars will feature the same 2 liter turbocharged petrol engine but get different body styles and ground clearances. The CLA45 AMG sedan is priced at Rs. 75.2 lakhs while the GLA45 AMG crossover is priced at Rs. 77.85 lakhs. Both cars are completely built units (CBU) that Mercedes has imported directly from Germany – the only location where AMG cars are built.
The 2 liter engines that these cars have are in the same state of tune – 375 Bhp and 475 Nm. This is the most powerful-ever state of tune that this engine has seen. The transmission is a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. This gearbox sends torque an full-time all wheel drive system.
All wheel drive means grip in all conditions, and with such powerful cars, that’s something very essential. The CLA45 AMG can reach 100 Kmph from rest in just 4.1 seconds. The GLA45 AMG can do the same acceleration run in 4.3 seconds due to the additional weight it carries.
AMG sports suspension and four driving modes are common to both cars. The main changes on the interiors is the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a new, 8 inch infotainment system, and red contrast colour to the dashboard, steering and seats.
Mercedes Benz also offers an Aero kit to both cars. This kit adds a front bumper lip, aggressive side skirts and front canards. People who want to buy the Aero kit will need to pay 2.49 lakhs extra for the CLA45 AMG and 2.82 lakhs extra for the GLA45 AMG.

Aufrecht and Melcher are the surnames of the two engineers who started this tuning company, and Grossaspach is the name of the place where they started this company. Mercedes acquired the company many years ago. Since then, the company has been selling of its performance cars under the AMG brand.
