Mahindra launched the all-new XUV300 earlier this year in the Indian market and the car has already gained quite a popularity in the Indian market. The XUV300 became the second best-selling vehicle in the segment after the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, however, after the launch of the Hyundai Venue in the market, it slipped to the third position. The Mahindra XUV300 is the only vehicle in the segment that does not offer an automatic transmission but that will change soon.
At the time of the launch of the XUV300 in the Indian market, Mahindra officially confirmed about the launch of the automatic models in the coming times. The new XUV300 with automatic transmission is expected to be launched by the end of this month and the cars have also started reaching the dealerships across India. In fact, there was a test-drive vehicle spotted at a dealership too, which indicates that the launch is expected to happen soon.
This video by AutoTrend TV reveals the Mahindra XUV300 W6 diesel AMT version, which will be launched soon. The video shows the vehicle’s exterior and interior. Mahindra is also expected to launch the W8 version with the AMT transmission.
The video shows the transmission lever too. The 6-speed automatic transmission can be controlled manually too and there’s a Sports mode too. Even though the vehicle seen in the video is the diesel version, Mahindra is also expected to be launching the AMT automatic transmission with the petrol model too.
The Mahindra XUV300 gets powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the Marazzo too. However, the tuning is different in the sub-4m vehicle. In the XUV300, the diesel engine produces a maximum power of 115 Bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. It is the most powerful diesel engine in the segment and currently, it gets a standard 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol variants of the Mahindra XUV300 get powered by the 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, which is an all-new engine. It develops a maximum power of 108 Bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. It also gets a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.
The all-new XUV300 gets a long list of features and offers spacious rear seating too. There are many first-in-segment features including disc brakes on all four wheels, steering modes, dual-zone climate control, 7 airbags, heated ORVMs, longest wheelbase in the segment, and more. The car also offers features like a sunroof, cruise control, sunroof, ABS+EBD, tyre-pressure monitoring system, and more.
The XUV300 competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon in the market. It is a fast-growing segment with the new launches, the competition has only become stiffer. It should be noted that XUV300 is one of the most expensive vehicles in the segment.
