KTM 200 Duke is a popular motorcycle in the Indian market and the bike is loved by many enthusiasts. There are many modified examples of the KTM 200 Duke and many of them get a totally different body type from the stock model. Here is one such modified KTM 200 Duke that gets transformed into a Brat bike and what’s more? It is on sale with an attractive price tag.

The bike has been modified by the owner himself with the help of a local welding shop, which ensures top-notch quality. The asking price of the bike is Rs 1.25 lakh and it is a 2013 model. The bike has done a total of 47,000 according to the odometer reading and the advertisement on the T-BHP also claims that a detailed service history of the bike is available, which is quite a bonus. The ad further says that it is currently owned by the second owner, which means that the bike will be sold to the third owner. The reason for sale is listed as “upgrading” and the seller also mentions that it is not a distress sale.

Nonetheless, the KTM 200 Duke Brat bike seen here gets a lot of customisations. The fuel tank of the bike has been modified after removing the outer casing and adding a custom casing that looks very different from the stock tank.  The chassis of the bike has been chopped to make it shorter in size. The tail-end gets shorter by a few inches, that gives it a true brat look. Also, the trellis frame of the bike has been straightened out to give a proper look. For this, the rear sub-frame of the bike has been heated and then pressure is applied from the above to straighten it. Also, the upper frame gets a few cuts to allow it to straighten.

Ktm Brat

After cutting the frame, a newly fabricated rear subframe has been added in the Brat Cafe Racer style. The whole frame is then again heated to bring it lower and straighten it out to give a true brat racer feel to the bike. After positioning the sub-frame properly, the joints the welded to hold them to place properly. Then the seat of the bike is fabricated, which is flat. Also, it gets custom front and rear metal fenders. The instrument cluster gets a customised metallic insert that makes it look much better than the stock version.

The engine of the KTM 200 Duke remains untouched. It gets powered by a single-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 25.1 PS and peak torque of 19.2 Nm. It gets a standard six-speed transmission. The liquid-cooled engine of the KTM 200 Duke is high-revving and is fun-to-ride.

You might think your demands are too specific, but even with your specific needs you will be bombarded with innumerable options on leading car websites. Moreover, they will have listings of cars that have not been neatly sorted, and hence are not in a position to give you the best deal. How do you arrive at choosing the perfect car then?

Used car websites are usually of little use, even with their multiple filters. The onus of sorting the information remains on you, and who wants to be doing that amidst the hustle bustle of daily life? Fortunately, we have got just the right solution for you through the Cartoq TRUE PRICE.

By deploying the Cartoq TRUE PRICE , we help you identify the best deals. The Cartoq Data Science team has built a Machine Learning model that estimates the TRUE PRICE of a used car, after accounting for all sorts of variables – brand, model, age, mileage, and car type.

With all factors accounted for, the model predicts the TRUE PRICE, which then becomes the basis of comparison across cars. The best deals are those where listed price is lower than the TRUE PRICE. So we scan through the car listings across major used car sites, compute their TRUE PRICE, and present the best deals for you.

The shortlist for this article was based on the analysis we ran on June 21, 2019; so by the time you read this article, there is a good chance that the specific car may no longer be available.
However, this list still provides plenty of useful pointers even if certain specific cars have already been sold out.

This is a Ford Ecosport exhibition, which means:

  • Ford Ecosport is the undisputed champion in this category.
  • The Ecosport 1.5 DV5 MT Titanium has three different cars featured here, making it the smart choice both in terms of price and utility.

Without further ado, let’s check out our top recommendations.

Recommendation #1: Ford Ecosport 1.5 Petrol Titanium Plus AT

Used Uv Chennai 1

Year: 2017 / Mileage: 17,500 / List Price: Rs. 600,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,053,374

Why buy: This is, without a doubt, one of the dream deals that you will get in any category. This white SUV has a comprehensive insurance and comes with an automatic transmission. Its sublime performance, paltry distance covered, and economic price make it a must buy, and an obvious choice for pole position on this list.

Recommendation #2: Ford EcoSport 1.5 DV5 MT Titanium

Used Uv Chennai 2

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 58,000 / List Price: Rs. 605,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 960,000

Why buy: Currently with its first owner, this grey diesel SUV is the perfect option to turn to turn to if the top car on this list does not fit the bill. Its substantial mileage and relatively steep price are factors to consider, but if you are looking for a dependable car for a couple of years, then this should be a sensible option.

Recommendation #3: Ford Ecosport 1.5 DV5 MT Titanium

Used Uv Chennai 3

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 50,000 / List Price: Rs. 612,500 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 960,000

Why buy: This first owner white SUV is a real game changer with its stunning looks, fantastic coverage, and reliable efficiency. In spite of covering a fair amount of ground, this diesel powered car has impressive durability, and should be an easy choice if the price is palatable for the buyer.

Recommendation #4: Ford Ecosport Titanium+ 1.5L TDCi

Used Uv Chennai 4

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 60,000 / List Price: Rs. 700,700 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,105,000

Why buy: Assured of a consistent brake and suspension performance, this grey first owner SUV is powered by diesel and has an insurance cover to boot. Compared with the Ecosport 1.5 DV MT variants, this is more expensive and not as efficient, but still worth considering given its reliable record.

See it on Droom

Recommendation #5: Ford EcoSport 1.5 DV5 MT Titanium

Used Uv Chennai 5

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 48,000 / List Price: Rs. 650,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 960,000

Why buy: Another car placed with its first owner, this grey diesel SUV is a middle of the pack option, especially for those who might be stuck between options two and three on this list. Its comparatively fewer exertions on the odometer means this could be a better bet for the future than some of the other vehicles on this list.

In Summary

SUVs in Chennai must be durable, especially to tackle the weather, and all these five cars are absolute dynamos in that regard. Ford clearly has a distinct edge over other manufacturers in terms of mileage, price, consistency, and variants in the SUV market, and its supremacy is evident in this list.

It should be noted that BMW is yet to launch the car and has not even showcased the car to the public as of now. This is not the first time that the golfer has hit the magical hole-in-one, he has made the shot earlier in his career too. Also, this is the first time that someone has won the BMW Hole-in-one award since 2010 in the Munich event. However, this is the eighth win of the award in the tournament’s 31-year old history. Earlier in 1991, the prize was a BMW 325i Cabrio, while other prizes include Z8 Roadster, 535i sedan, 640i Gran Coupe, i8 Coupe, i8 Roadster and M760Li sedan.

BMW will officially reveal the vehicle next week and Gaganjeet, the Indian golfer will be the first person in the world to own the vehicle. The price of the upcoming BMW M8 Competition Coupe is €193,880, which translates into around Rs 1.53 crore.

Bmw Gaganjeet 1

Gaganjeet Bhullar after winning the award said,

“This is my second hole in one in a professional golf tournament. Before starting this year, I discussed with my caddie one of my dreams. I said need to make at least one hole in one and choose the right one, I’m glad we made that commitment. It’s a great moment. BMWs are some of my favourite cars and I’d love to drive that car.”

The BMW M8 Competition Coupe is the most expensive prize of all the time. The new flagship car is priced at Rs 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces a maximum power of 625 PS. It can hit the 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. BMW has developed a customised chassis technology that is tuned to perform on the tracks. It also gets an all-new integrated braking system that allows the driver to choose from two different pedal settings for greater control over the car.

Moreover, the car also gets a Track Mode, which changes the performance settings of the engine, braking, steering, suspension and the all-wheel-drive system of the vehicle. The users also get a distraction-free setting that removes the radio and control console.

Year: 2015 / Mileage: 40,676 / List Price: Rs. 475,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 753,000

Why buy: Running on petrol, this white sedan may not seem like the most lucrative option provided its steep price and considerable tally on the odometer, but it could still be a smart buy given that it is less than five years old, dynamic and powerful. Currently with its first owner, this may not be an obvious buy, but with consideration, will turn out to be a sensible option.

In Summary

Honda is the way to go if you are looking for a sedan in this range while Hyundai is your answer for premium hatchbacks, though Maruti puts up a stiff challenge to Honda in the first category. If you are confused between which car type to go for, a simple scan of our numbers would simplify the process, beyond which subjective preference and aesthetic appeal should have greater sway over your final decision.

Motor Vehicles Amendment bill approved by Cabinet: Traffic fines could go up DRASTICALLY

The Indian government’s cabinet of ministers has approved the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill, which proposes a drastic increase in traffic fined apart from many other measures to make roads safer and traffic more orderly. The bill will now go to the upper house (Rajya Sabha). Once the upper house approves it, the bill will become law and will come into effect.

The Hindu’s source had this to say about the bill,

The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Bill. It provides steep penalties for violation of various traffic norms.

The motor vehicle amendment bill lapsed earlier this year, when fresh elections were called. It was first introduced in the Lok Sabha in April 2017, but wasn’t passed by the Rajya Sabha even after debate. If the same happens this time around, it will be a while before the bill becomes law. For now, here are details of common traffic offences and the fines that have to be paid by motorists if they break laws.

Fine amounts for traffic fines are set to go up by 10 times. The fine amount for driving without a valid license will go up to Rs. 5,000 from the existing Rs. 500. The penalty for talking on the mobile phone while driving/riding will go up to Rs. 5000 from Rs. 1,000. The penalty from drunk driving/riding, the fine will go up to Rs. 10,000 from the Rs. 2000.

As for rash/dangerous driving/riding, the fine will increase to Rs. 5,000, from the current Rs. 1,000. The new bill also aims to increase liability on vehicle owners who allow juveniles to ride/drive a vehicle without a valid license. The vehicle owner may even face jail time in such situations, and this is meant to act as a strong deterrent.

Indian roads are among the most dangerous in the world, with hundreds of people losing their lives daily due to road accidents. While roads have become better in the past couple of decades, the rise in traffic has been dramatic. Lack of traffic discipline means that many drives/riders who begin using their vehicles on the road are as much a safety hazard as are poor roads.

While a steep increase in traffic fines will deter many from breaking road rules, there’s a good chance that such measures can also raise corruption levels among enforcement agencies, chiefly traffic police forces across the country. Many Indian police officials are highly corrupt, and prefer bribes to legitimate fines. The fear is that the latest bill could make bribe amounts higher rather than actually reducing traffic offences.

2020 Hyundai Elite i20 spied with an electric sunroof

Hyundai is working on the all-new i20 for the Indian market. It will be launched next year in the Indian market and will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, its rebadged cousin – Toyota Glanza and the Honda Jazz. The all-new Hyundai Elite i20 is expected to be officially revealed by the end of this year while the launch will happen early next year.

Elite I20 2

The premium hatchback has been spotted testing in India and international markets. The latest set of spy pictures by Motovikatan of the Elite i20 from the Indian roads show that the all-new hatchback will get an electric sunroof too. The current version of the Elite i20 does not get a sunroof. The other changes revealed from the camouflaged pictures of the Elite i20 show the sleek headlamps that get a new design. There are projector headlamps inside. Also, the front bumper gets an aggressive design with large triangular fog lamp housings. Surprisingly, Hyundai will continue to offer the current set-up of headlamps and will not offer the split headlamps that are becoming increasingly popular in the market.

2020 Hyundai I20 Render 1

The all-new Hyundai Elite i20 will get a modified version of the current platform, which will likely keep the dimensions of the car similar to the current model. The i20 spied testing in the international markets reveals much more than the car spotted on the Indian roads. It is most likely that the Indian-spec Elite i20 will be similar to the international version with a few minor changes. However, the overall design of the car will remain identical to the international version. Our in-house car rendering expert Vipin Vithoopan has created a rendering image based on the Elite i20 spotted in the international markets and this is the result.

Elite I20 3

On the inside, the all-new Hyundai Elite i20 is expected to get a long list of changes. Hyundai will make the cabin plusher with additional features. Hyundai will also offer the connected car technology with the all-new i20, which is already there on the Hyundai Venue. Other features like a wireless phone charger, cruise control, 6-airbag system, touchscreen infotainment system will be on the feature list.

Hyundai has already announced that they will continue to offer the diesel engine options in the Indian market even after the BS6 emission norms are set in place. While it is not confirmed, Hyundai may use the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine that is available with the Hyundai Venue in the third-generation i20. Also, Hyundai is currently working to upgrade the 1.4-litre diesel engine to the new emission norms. Hyundai will also offer the 7-speed DCT automatic transmission with the all-new i20 in the Indian market.

Why buy: Shining in blue, this first owner premium hatchback runs on petrol, and comes with insurance cover and leatherette interior furnishing. Post car service inspection: What you should know

$
0
0

A stitch in time saves nine, they say.

Replace ‘stitch’ with ‘service’, and you have the mantra for a car that gives you no reason to worry.

Routine maintenance is an integral part of owning a car. Each vehicle needs an inspection, servicing and if required, replacement of parts. This schedule is dictated either by the odometer reading or at specified time intervals.

Treat your car well, and it’ll return the favour by serving you for years without complaint. That said, getting the car to the service station is only half the job. Conducting a proper post-service inspection is equally important. That too before you drive off the workshop parking area.

Go Mechanic Logo

If you think that such a move might seem insulting to the trained staff of the workshop, let’s assure you it won’t. Rather, you’ll score extra points for being a client that not just knows his vehicle but is aware of the key practices to be followed post service.

Allow us to give you a lowdown on what all to check:

1. Tally the job card and work done

Gomechanic Service 1 Image

A job card to a car is what a doctor’s prescription is to the patient. It includes everything the consumer wants to get done and all the services that were actually carried out. Make sure any special instructions that you, as a consumer, might have added, have been carried out to your satisfaction. If everything checks out, but you still have some doubts at all, feel free to seek a clarification from the service advisor. Why? Because you’ll be billed as per the descriptions in the job-card.

2. Verify the consumables and parts changed

Again, it’s the job card that will tell you the full story. Each part or consumable that has been replaced is mentioned in it. And this is what the workshop’s accounts department relies on to the make the final bill. So tallying the list of parts with the ones actually changed is essential.

3. Take a quick tour of the car

We know you love to do this anyway but post-service, do it to check on all accessories and stock items such as the spare wheel, tools and documents. Whatever you left in the car before handing it over should be at their respective places. It takes only a minute or two and ensures there’s no surprise, nasty or unwanted, at a later stage. And while you are at it, make sure there are no fresh scratches or dents on the outside. A car is moved around at a workshop and ‘incidents’ do take place on occasions.

4. A short but sweet test drive

Request the service advisor to allow you to take the car for a quick spin before making the payment. For this, he will instruct one of the staff members to go along, as much for his peace of mind as to get an assurance that the work has been done to your satisfaction. If you find any niggling issues, report it to the staff who’s with you and make sure it is taken care of immediately after you return to the workshop.

5. The final dekho

Gomechanic Service Image

This may seem a cosmetic step but is important nonetheless. Since everyone knows that a car owner glows only as much as his car, the cleaning staff at the workshop frequently goes overboard while polishing the cabin. We agree that it looks great but all that extra polish will make the cabin prone to marks and stains. Ask for the polish to be removed completely – from the plastics panels and all the windows as well.

While a routine service might not take too much time, the post service inspection calls for patience. After all, you are paying for a job to be done well, and have all the right to ensure they meet your standards.

On the other hand, if you want to skip this boring bit but also need the assurance that everything has been double-checked for you, head over to a certified and genuine service centre via GoMechanic.com: their partner workshops treat customers as friends and not as mobile money-making units. Their service advisors explain each process that has been carried out, which gives that every customer that extra bit of confidence! Is your car service due? You know which site to log on to now! Are you on the lookout for a used but powerful mid-size SUV? Would you prefer the car to be priced below 8 lakhs? Are you car hunting specifically in Kolkata? If yes, then this is the one-stop destination for having all your requirements met.

The unenviable task of sorting the information is still yours, and who wants to be digging a data mine? Fortunately, we have got just the right solution for you through the Cartoq TRUE PRICE.

By deploying the Cartoq TRUE PRICE, we help you identify the best deals.

The best deals are those where the listed price is lower than the TRUE PRICE. So, we scan through the car listings across major used car sites, compute their TRUE PRICE, and present the best deals for you.

The shortlist for this article was based on the analysis we ran on June 24, 2019; so, by the time you read this article, there is a good chance that the specific car may no longer be available.

However, this list still provides plenty of useful pointers even if certain specific cars have already been sold out.

Mahindra lays down the gauntlet on this list, which means:

  • Mahindra cars offer the right balance between price and utility.
  • The only challenger to Mahindra’s supremacy is Hyundai, providing a smart alternative, good enough for second place.

Without further ado, let’s check out our top recommendations.

Recommendation #1: Mahindra Scorpio S10 7-Seater

Year: 2016 / Mileage: 15,000 / List Price: Rs. 575,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,434,000

Why buy: Currently belonging to its first owner, this diesel-powered SUV has a lot of things going for it. To begin with, it has hardly been driven a lot and is semi-new. Secondly, it has impeccable efficiency and is structurally suited for long, arduous trips. Finally, at the slated price, it is a bargain, considering its elaborate array of features. This car is a winner and earns its place at number one, and hopefully, in your garage, too.

Recommendation #2: Hyundai Creta 1.4S Diesel

Used Suv Kolkata 1

Year: 2017 / Mileage: 57,180 / List Price: Rs. 780,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,191,000

Why buy: Running on petrol and placed with its first owner, this car has exercised the odometer substantially more than the topper on this list. Its hefty price might be a deal breaker, but consider its age, and you will know that this vehicle can make for a good bet in the long run.

Recommendation #3: Mahindra XUV500 W8

Used Suv Kolkata 2

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 64,000 / List Price: Rs. 784,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,563,000

Why buy: It is understandable if you think this car is not viable given its steep price and high mileage. But this first owner car, fueled by diesel, comes in a ravishing white and has shown impeccable performance. If you are looking for a bold option that combines style with substance, this may just be what you are looking for.

Recommendation #4: Mahindra Scorpio VLX 4WD AIRBAG AT BS IV

Used Suv Kolkata 3

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 53,387 / List Price: Rs. 750,000 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,263,310

Why buy: There was a time when the Scorpio was the undoubted king of SUVs. The glory days may be over, but the Mahindra variant still churns out impressive cars like this one. Powered by diesel and currently placed with its first owner, this is a middle of the range option with no outstanding features or glaring faults.

Recommendation #5: Mahindra Scorpio VLX 4WD BS IV

Used Suv Kolkata 4

Year: 2014 / Mileage: 42,000 / List Price: Rs. 759,500 / Ex Showroom Price: Rs. 1,229,000

Why buy: Another white diesel Scorpio also placed with its first owner, this one comes at a fractionally higher price than the fourth ranked car, though it has worked the odometer noticeably less. Strong, stable, and sustainable, this is a good fit for buyers who are willing to pay slightly more for this Scorpio in the hope of greater durability.

In Summary

The Mahindra Scorpio may seem like a forgotten entity, but in the mid-size SUV market in Kolkata, it still very much holds its own. The other options on this list also make for promising investments, showing signs of plenty of vitality in this segment. A mid-size SUV has to handle the tradeoff between cost and performance better than most other cars, and all the candidates on this compilation achieve that successfully.

There is no doubt in the fact that the Royal Enfield motorcycles are one of the most-preferred motorcycles when it comes to modifications. There are different levels of modifications that can be seen on the Royal Enfield motorcycles. While a few of them are basic level modifications that alter the way the bike looks while there are many transformation jobs that completely changes the way the motorcycle looks. Here is one such modified Royal Enfiled bike that has been transformed into a Harley-Davidson inspired chopper.

The customisation job has been done by the renowned TNT Motorcycles and the video has uploaded by Vampvideo. The whole customisation job costs Rs 7 lakh according to the video. However, the job done on the motorcycle is exceptional and it sure has all the looks to turn the heads on the roads. This video shows the bike from various angles and also explains the modifications done by TNT motorcycles.

To start with, the whole set-up gets a custom chassis that completely changes the way the motorcycle looks in stock form. The custom chassis lower the ground clearance of the bike and it is also much longer than the stock version of the Royal Enfield motorcycle. This changes the whole look of the bike. The custom bike also gets a wide rear tyre and a tall front tyre that gives a chopper stance to the bike. It gets multispoke rims with golden colour spokes that look quite interesting on the bike and go with the overall theme of the bike.

Even the chassis gets the black and golden paint job. The headlamp in the front looks simple and gets a golden coloured grille placed in the front. The tank design looks quite interesting and the bike gets a minimalistic design with a lot of empty spaces in between. The fuel tank is secured at the spot using multiple wires that are tied to the chassis. The handlebar also gets a minimalistic design with leather handlebar grips. The single-leather seat is positioned away from the fuel tank, which ensures a very relaxed riding position.

Royal Enfield 1

It is a hardtail model, which means there is no rear suspension in the bike. Instead, the suspension is positioned just below the seat to provide a cushioned ride quality. Also, the electrical box, where all the fuses and wires are placed has been designed quite interestingly. It is designed like a barrel and is secured by a number of wires. The battery box of the bike gets a leather casing, which is similar to the seat. The naked chain of the bike adds a rustic look to it. Overall, the motorcycle looks quite admirable.

Maruti Suzuki has remained the top-selling brand in the Indian market for a long time now. The manufacturer is most popular in the mass-segment, affordable cars but Maruti did try its luck in the premium segment in the past. Apart from the Grand Vitara SUV, Maruti launched the Kizashi sedan as a CBU import in the Indian market in 2011. Since it was a full-imported model, it carried a very hefty price tag. Here is a rare review of the car in 2019.

The car seen here is a 2014 model. Maruti Suzuki launched the all-new Kizashi in 2011. The car was available in two variants – manual and automatic. The base manual was priced at Rs 16.5 lakh while the automatic version of the car came with a price tag of Rs 17.5 lakh. Both prices are of ex-showroom. It only offered a single petrol engine option. Since it was a fully imported vehicle, the tax charged on it was 105%, which made it extremely pricey in the market.

The variant seen here is the automatic CVT version and the review has been done by Namaste Car. The Kizashi launched in India were direct import from Japan and it came with a lot of high-end features like self-levelling projector lamps, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. It also came with 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels with disc brakes on all the four wheels. The dual-exhaust pipes at the rear of the Kizashi are inspired by Suzuki Hayabusa.

The Kizashi was one of the finest vehicles in its time and was also awarded 5-star ratings by the NCAP. It gets high-tensile steel body and it also gets impact absorbing pillars and side roof rails. The car came with as many as eight airbags – front, rear, side and curtain. It also came with immobiliser, ABS+EBD, speed sensing door locks, impact sensing auto unlock, seatbelt with pre-tensioner and load limiter.

Kizashi 1

The Suzuki Kizashi came with a plush interior and offered a lot of cabin space. At the rear, it received two AC vents and came with leather trims on the doors. Leather was generously used in the car and even the gear knob and the steering wheel came with leather cover. The Kizashi offered all four power windows. The driver seat was electrically adjustable and it could have been adjusted in 10 ways. To save the location of the seat, it also gets an option of memory seats and up to three positions can be saved. The infotainment system came with CD, Radio, USB support and it got 5-speakers in total.

Powering the Kizashi is a 2.4-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 178 PS and peak torque of 230 Nm. It came with a choice of 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.

Honda CR-V, the flagship SUV from the Japanese brand in the Indian market is a well-known and popular car in India. However, the CR-V has always been restricted to only a segment of the buyers who like classy, sublime looking SUVs. Nonetheless, the popularity of SUVs is increasing around the world and the situation is similar in India. However, due to the limited road space and expensive price tag, exclusive SUVs like Karlmann King are not available in the Indian market. The solution of the enthusiasts? Modify a vehicle available in the Indian market to look like one.

Crv 1

Here is a Honda CR-V, modified to imitate the Karlmann King, the world’s most expensive SUV priced at Rs 13 crore. It is a limited edition SUV, which is based on the Ford F550 commercial truck. It is a bulletproof vehicle with an extraordinary level of features and specifications inside. The Honda CR-V modified by Autoshades does not get any feature like that but it sure tries its best to imitate the Karlmann King.

Crv 2

The modification job is based on an older-generation CR-V and it is not the latest model. However, the modder has tried to recreate the stealthy bodywork on the CR-V. The Karlmann King gets an angular body design with flat surfaces facing various direction. The design is inspired by the stealth jets that can evade the radars. When talking about the design of the Karlmann King, many would have split views about its design and how it looks on the road. We are sure that there are many who think that this CR-V inspired by the Karlmann King also gets similar views.

Crv 3

The modification job includes the addition of specially fabricated body panels on the CR-V all over. The front-end gets a very aggressive-looking hood on the bonnet. Even the grille of the car is aftermarket and is designed to offer an aggressive look. The bumpers are designed to add a wide body look to the CR-V. From the pictures, we can make out that the headlamp and tail lamp of the CR-V are stock. However, it now rides on new alloy wheels.

Crv 4

The whole car gets an all-black treatment that further makes it look much more aggressive. Even the tailgate of the car has been redesigned to give the proper Karlmann King look. We are not sure how much the customer spent on this modification job but we can assure you that it is the fraction of the cost of the Karlmann King. Also, the time taken for the modification job is not known.

Crv 5

Earlier generation Honda CR-V remained powered only by petrol engines and this one gets the same. However, there is no information on the tuning of the engine or if there have been any performance enhancing modifications.

KTM 390 Duke vs BMW 3-Series 320d drag race: Who’s FASTER? [Video]

$

0

KTM Duke 390 is a pocket rocket. It is the quickest accelerating bike in the segment and can outrun the mass segment cars easily. However, is the 390 Duke quicker than the premium cars too? Well, here is a BMW 3-Series 320d, which an entry-level sedan from the Bavarian brand in India. The result? Well, you can check it out in the video below.

The video has been posted by Ayush Verma on an empty stretch of road. The BMW 3-Series sedan seen in the video gets a lot of M3 badges but it is a regular 320d underneath. It gets an all-black, rims and other slight modifications but the engine is in stock condition. The video shows both of them starting the drag race on the empty stretch of road.

The drag race starts on the third honk and the KTM 390 Duke can be seen zooming past the sedan at the starting line itself. The video shows the bike staying ahead of the BMW 320d all the time and even gaining distance. In the end, the KTM 390 Duke could be seen much quicker and crossing the finishing line much more comfortably. It should be noted that that KTM 390 Duke rider pulled a wheelie in between, which puts an impact on the acceleration and still it won the race comfortably. There was no camera placed at the finishing line but the video shows a clear win with over 2 seconds lead.

Duke Vs Bmw Featured

The BMW 320d is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine option that generates a maximum power of 184 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 380 Nm between 1750-2750 rpm. The KTM 390 Duke, on the other hand, gets a 373.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 43 Bhp and 37 Nm of peak torque. It may sound like a fraction of the power of BMW 320d but the real answer lies in the weight. The BMW 320d weighs a massive 1,490 kg, which makes it difficult to accelerate quickly. The KTM 390 Duke weighs only 166.6 kg, which gives it a massive advantage when it comes to acceleration. The BMW 320d gets a power-to-weight ratio of 123 Bhp/ton, which is much lower than the KTM 390 Duke’s power-to-weight ratio of 271.76 Bhp/ton, giving it a massive advantage.

However, the BMW 320d has a much higher speed than the KTM 390 Duke and of course, being a car, it is much more stable at the higher speeds. Officially, the BMW 320d can reach a top speed of 235 km/h while the KTM 390 Duke can reach an officially claimed top speed of 167 km/h. On a longer run, the BMW 320d will surely outrun the KTM 390 Duke but on the shorter runs, the KTM 390 Duke will always win because of the power-to-weight ratio advantage, which ensures a quicker acceleration. Officially, the BMW 320d can do 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds while the KTM 390 Duke can do it in 5.6 seconds.

Used Skoda Superb luxury sedans are affordable & easy to find, but should you buy them? We explain

$

The Indian used car market has become quite big now and offers vehicles from various brands. There are a few models that are found in abundance in the used car market just like the Skoda Superb. The flagship sedan from the Czechoslovakian brand has a lot of popularity in the market and is easily available in the used car market too. The deals on the Skoda Superb may look extremely tempting but there are many things that one should know about the Superb before making the final decision. We bring you the best and the worst of the Skoda Superb that you should know if you plan to get your hands on the sedan.

The good parts

Extremely spacious and luxurious

skoda superb front right

The Skoda Superb offers a lot of space inside the cabin. The previous model that was launched in 2013 came with a wheelbase of 2,761mm, which ensures a lot of knee room and space of the feet in the rear of the car. One can easily stretch their legs in the rear seats of the Skoda Superb. Now, this is much superior to other cars available in the segment and even many premium-branded cars. For example, the 2014 Audi A4 came with 2,642mm, which is more than 100mm shorter than the Skoda Superb. The Superb offers a massive boot space of 565-litres! Skoda also offers top-notch build quality and the cabin feels very plush.

Reliable engine options

The Skoda came with two engine options – 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both the engine options are quite powerful and are also highly reliable. Both the internationally acclaimed engines from the Volkswagen Group and are used in various cars from Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda. The petrol engine of the 2013 Skoda Octavia produces a maximum of 158 Bhp while the diesel engines get the 138 Bhp engine option.

Loaded with features

Skoda has always been very innovative and offers unique features. The Superb, for example, comes with a notchback boot lid. The 2013 model of the Skoda Superb also came with features like bi-xenon headlamps with quintessential DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic sunroof, parking sensors, cruise control, airbags and cornering function lamps.

Great road presence

The Skoda Superb gets a great design that catches a lot of eyes on the roads. Even the older version of the Superb had an intriguing design and the almost 5-meter length of the car adds a great luxurious feel to the car. The Skoda Superb gets an elegant design, which makes it a head-turner.

Can find affordable examples

Well, there are many affordable examples of the Skoda Superb available in the market. Even the cars in great condition are available at a very value-for-money price tag that goes for around Rs 5-10 lakhs. However, there can be many hidden factors in these vehicles, which are mentioned below. An example of affordable used Superb sedans available in India.

The infamous “DSG”

skoda super front grille headlamps

Skoda offers the dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel engine options in the Indian market. The petrol engine option came with the DQ200 transmission while the diesel version came with the DQ250. The DQ200 is not a great transmission to own and owners from around the world have registered complaints on it. The DQ200 is a dry-type transmission that gets 7-speeds. However, the construction of the transmission is in a way that problems like shudders at low speed can come up. The DQ250, which is available with the diesel version of the Superb is slightly better in the terms of problems but it still is not as reliable as the other automatic transmissions. The best way to avoid the transmission problem is to choose the manual transmission option. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with a manual transmission and it is much more reliable than the DSG.

Service Centres

Skoda has worked quite a lot to make their service centres better and improve customer experience. However, there are still many who have posted about their complaints about the Skoda service centres and how their vehicles get handled. In fact, there are many cases where the Skoda dealerships have quoted lakhs of rupees for the repairs whereas the customer got the problem go away for free or a fraction of the cost from the local service centres. Still, there are many customers who are affected by the misdiagnosis at the Skoda service centres. The best way to avoid this problem is to find a reliable local dealership who has the experience to get around the problems. There are plentiful of them in India. Also, the spare parts can take a lot of time to arrive and then the parts are very expensive too. In short, the maintenance can burn a hole in the pocket and make the ownership experience pretty bad too.

CFMoto is all set to begin its second innings in India next month when it will launch four bikes in our market. To let you know, CFMoto is a Chinese manufacturer that is known for its motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and side-by-side utility vehicles along with engines and other mechanical components. The brand will launch for motorcycles in India on the 4th of July, 2019. Three of these bikes will be of 650 cc category while the most affordable one will be a 300 cc segment bike. As of now, the company is in the process of opening its dealerships across various cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Mumbai, Goa and Pune.

Cfmoto 300nk

The Chinese manufacturer has tied up with Bengaluru-based AMW Motorcycles for its second innings in India. For those who are wondering about its first innings, the brand tried to enter our market in 2016 with Eider motors but the latter turned out to be a fraudulent company, leading to a delay in plans for CFMoto. The four upcoming bikes by CFMoto next month are – 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and 650GT. They will be brought to India via the CKD route and hence the specifications are likely to match the international version of these bikes.

The CFMoto 650NK, 650MT and 650GT are all powered by the same 649.3cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. However, the engine has been tuned specifically o each bike according to their purpose. The 650NK, for example, is a naked bike with a power output of 60 Bhp and 56 Nm of torque. Next up is the 650MT, which is an adventure tourer motorcycle. Here, the 649.3 cc engine churns out 69 Bhp of power along with 62 Nm of torque. The 650GT, on the other hand, is a tourer and has a power output of nearly 62 Bhp of power along with 58.5 Nm of torque.

Cfmoto 650mt

The 300NK will be the most affordable option among the four bikes. It is powered by a 292.4cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out around 34 Bhp of power along with 20.5Nm of torque. It is a naked style motorcycle with an aggresive design and comes with an all-digital instrument console. It will rival the likes of the KTM 250 Duke and the Honda CB 300R when launched here next month.

The bikes will be manufactured at a plant that has been set up in Bengaluru. It has the capacity to produce 10,000 units per annum. Pricing will play an important part of the brand in India. Smaller displacement models like the 300NK can be a hit of priced well and aftersales support is good. The Indian biking market is now more inclined towards affordable performance motorcycles rather than commuter bikes and hence this is the right time for CFMoto to enter the market.
