The Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs are known for their bulletproof reliability and extreme capabilities. Well, that is why most influential people around the world prefer using the Land Cruiser SUVs. In India, the Land Cruisers are quite expensive because they are CBUs. However, in the used car market, its price is a little more achievable. Well, here is a very well-maintained Toyota Land Cruiser for sale, which is cheaper than a brand-new Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Lc2

This is a Punjab registered SUV that will come with all the required documents and No Objection Certificate. The documents and NOC can be used by the buyer to register the vehicle anywhere else in the country. It should be noted that this Land Cruiser Prado is a 2007 model, which makes it 12 year old vehicle. Lc1

From the pictures, the vehicle looks like in great condition. The exterior seems to be free of any dents or scratches. Even the tyres look like in good condition. However, we do suggest buyers to check the vehicle personally before making a decision of buying it. Even the interior of this Land Cruiser Prado are in great shape and part from little worn out surfaces, everything else seems to be in a great condition.

Toyota vehicles are known for their ultra-reliable engines and if kept properly. This Toyota Land Cruiser has done only 57,000 km according to the odometer, which is quite less for a vehicle of this stature. It is not known if the service records of the vehicle are available with the seller.

Lc4

Engine-wise, it gets the 3.4-litre V6 petrol engine that generates a massive 185 Bhp. The power is distributed to all the wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. It gets all the off-road features in place including low ratio transfer case and terrain modes.

Lc3

This Toyota Land Cruiser SUV can be a great buy if you’re looking to buy a new vehicle in that price range. However, one should always remember that the maintenance cost of such vehicles is not as cheap as the other mass segment vehicles like Swift. One should always get the information on maintenance and other details before investing in such vehicles.

Upgrading in life is something we all look forward too. This holds true when it comes to our preferred set of wheels. In fact, cars remain an emotional purchase in India and stepping up the ladder to a larger vehicle ends up elevating our status in the society. Not only this, a larger car also makes you feel special, your family comfortable and at times, your friends jealous! This brings us to the car in subject here, the Tata Tigor.

This is a sedan, a proper large vehicle that every small car owner looks forward to when moving from a hatchback. But the luxury that sedans offers comes for a premium. Is that always true? Before we get to that, just think what all the Tata Tigor offers you.

Tigor 800 Resized

The Tigor, within its swooping rear window that seamlessly flows into the boot, boasts of a genuine sedan look—as opposed to ‘boot-strapped-to-a-hatchback design that ails several of its competitors. There are enough elements to announce your arrival – for example the dual chambered headlamps and the chrome studded diamond front grille. These two design aspects along make the car look much premium and stylish. The variant you see here is the top spec XZ+ that also comes with machined cut alloy wheels. As you take your eyes towards the rear, the Tigor ends up impressing you with the unique coupe inspired design and the signature LED tail lamps – these do look bling at night. And then, there is the shark fin antennae at the tail-end of the roof.

800x450 Tigor Interior

If you think the design is upmarket, wait till you get inside. As seen in the video above, Gagan was left surprised with the high-quality interiors and the features on offer. And why not? For lesser money than all its rivals, the Tigor offers premium dual-tone interiors with faux leather upholstery, the best-in-segment 7″ touchscreen infotainment by Harman and an 8-speaker surround sound system tuned by Harman experts. You need to hear this to believe what we mean – it is that good!

The Tigor story doesn’t end here. The solidly built sedan isn’t no lightweight—and that shows in the way it glides over bumps and potholes. Its ‘heavy’ character helps driver’s confidence, particularly at high speeds.

So, what’s the catch?

Well, none actually. On the contrary, Tigor’s best-in-class characteristics are backed by another trump card: Solid Value For example, the fully loaded XZ+ trim you see here is not only about Rs. 1 lakh cheaper than the top end trim of its main rivals, Tata Motors’ bundle of discounts and offers make the deal even sweeter for the end customer. These include a flat cash discount of Rs 25,000 and an exchange bonus of 20,000!

Before we end, there is another factor that makes purchasing the Tata Tigor right now a sensible choice. That is because soon cars will have to be upgraded to BS-6 or Bharat Stage VI norms which means the hardware and software changes will end up making the cars even more expensive. So, if you buy a Tigor soon, it’s like rolling the dice once, but winning twice: you get an excellent car; and you get a fantastic deal.

Remember the scared paragliding dude? He just gifted his dad a Mahindra Scorpio

Vipin Pavan Sahu, the man who featured in a paragliding video from Himachal Pradesh became a meme and viral on the Internet earlier this year has gifted a brand-new Mahindra Scorpio to his father. Sahu was under the limelight after his POV video became viral when he went for a Paragliding earlier this year in Himachal Pradesh. He has now uploaded a new video showing the gift to his father.

The video uploaded on the official account of Sahu shows him talking to the camera. He says that he is gifting the Mahindra Scorpio to his father and it has been possible because of the love of all the people. The father even drives the Mahindra Scorpio on the camera after showing his reluctance to drive a brand-new vehicle. It sure is a fantastic way to make the parents happy in the old age.

Vipin Sahu is a tile showroom owner from Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The Scorpio has been around for years in the Indian market now and it is still quite popular in the market. The Mahindra Scorpio is known for its muscular looks and strong build quality. The vehicle currently sees stiff competition in the segment but it remains the first choice of many in Tier II and Tier III cities. The Mahindra Scorpio’s ladder frame chassis makes it suitable for the rough roads in the developing regions of the country. Also, the simple mechanics of the Mahindra Scorpio makes it easily repairable. A Mahindra Scorpio can be repaired by a roadside mechanic, which makes it quite popular among the customers who need a vehicle all the time.

Iiii

Mahindra is currently working on the all-new Scorpio and the manufacturer has been testing the vehicle for a long time now. The all-new Scorpio will look quite different from the current version of the SUV. The all-new Scorpio will become much larger and very different from the current version. Spy pictures of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio show that the vehicle will as big as Tata Harrier, which means that it will move up in the segment and will get a higher price tag.

Meanwhile, here’s the video that made Vipin Sahu famous overnight.

The all-new Scorpio will get an all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine that will power the next-generation Mahindra vehicles in the Indian market. The new diesel engine will be BS6 compliant and will be much more powerful than the current 2.2-litre mHawk engine. Also, the upcoming Scorpio is expected to get a host of new features to attract the new buyers in the market. Mahindra is expected to showcase the production version of the all-new Scorpio at the 2020 Auto Expo that is scheduled to take place in February 2020.

Hyundai Aura compact sedan: New Maruti Dzire rival to borrow engine from Hyundai Venue

Hyundai India will soon launch the Aura compact sedan, which will be based on the Grand i10 NIOS. The car will co-exist with Hyundai’s other offering in the compact sedan segment: the Xcent. New details about the Aura have been revealed by Hyundai. The South Korean automaker has just announced that the Aura will be India’s first BS6 certified turbocharged petrol engined sedan. The car will borrow the turbo petrol engine from the Hyundai Venue.

Hyundai Aura Compact Sedan

Power and torque outputs of the BS6 compliant turbo petrol engine are yet to be revealed. The 1 liter-3 cylinder turbo petrol engine will be paired to a five speed manual gearbox, and unlike the Venue, will not be offered with a 7 speed twin clutch automatic gearbox. Instead, Hyundai will offer a 5 speed automated manual transmission (AMT) with the 1.2 liter petrol engine that will also be offered in the Aura. Expect a 82 Bhp-114 Nm state of tune for the 1.2 petrol.

Hyundai continues to bet big on diesel engined cars, and even the Aura compact sedan will get a 1.2 liter-3 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine borrowed from the Grand i10/Xcent. This engine will be BS6 compliant, and will be sold with a 5 speed manual gearbox. A 75 Bhp-190 Nm state of tune is likely for the diesel motor. Hyundai will also offer a 5 speed AMT with this diesel engine, making the Aura similar to the Maruti Dzire, in that both the petrol and diesel engines will get AMT options. Notably, Maruti Suzuki plans to discontinue the diesel engined models of the Dzire from April 2020, which means that the Aura will be the only car in the segment to offer AMT options with both petrol and diesel models.

The Hyundai Aura is expected to share its front end styling with the recently launched Grand i10 NIOS. At the rear, completely different styling, which is a lot different from what we’ve seen on the Xcent, is likely. The car is expected to be feature-rich, with a slew of creature comforts and safety features on offer. A touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard on the higher trims. and if priced well, could race to the top of the sales charts. We’re saying this because the Maruti Dzire will have a big handicap from next year, when the diesel engined variants will be discontinued. A car like the Hyundai Aura can easily fill in the vacuum created by the Maruti Dzire Diesel’s non-availability.

Cops want to arrest those who don’t pay traffic fines!

The Mumbai police are staring at Rs. 80 crore worth of unpaid traffic fines sent through the e-Challan system, and they’re clearly unhappy about it. The Mumbai police department has decided to request courts to issue arrest warrants against those who do not pay traffic fines. This drive is likely to commence from the 1st of December, 2019, reports MumbaiMirror. So, if you do have unpaid traffic fines sent to you through the e-Challan system, do pay up quickly to avoid a potential arrest.

Mumbai Cops Fine Arrest Featured

But why are the cops thinking up such extreme measures for traffic fines?

  1. There are 27 lakh unpaid e-challans with the traffic police department of Mumbai ever since this system was introduced in 2016.
  2. Over 9,000 of these e-challans are for amounts over Rs. 5,000.
  3. A total of Rs. 80 crore worth unpaid fines have accumulated in the past 3 years.
  4. There has been very little response to the SMSes and letters that traffic police officials claim to have sent people having unpaid fines.
  5. The fine collection this year at Rs. 100 crore is much lower than last year’s collection of Rs. 139 crores.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Mumbai Traffic Department) Madhukar Pandey confirmed this development. A senior Mumbai police official added,

It is necessary to make the offenders fear the law. Earlier the police seized offenders’ licence and vehicle papers and retained these until the penalty was paid. Now with e-challans in place, a photo of the violator’s vehicle is clicked, and an SMS is sent. Many a time, the number is not registered with the RTO and even the address mentioned is incorrect. We need a system where people realise they can be sent to jail for not paying up.

In the past, there have been multiple instances of politicians and others in Mumbai not paying traffic fines issues through the e-Challan system. In fact, many months ago the Mumbai police seized a Honda Accord luxury sedan of a businessman for unpaid fines of Rs. 1.04 lakhs. The businessman was caught speeding on the Bandra-Worli sea-link multiple times in his BMW 3-Series and Honda Accord cars but hadn’t paid traffic fines for 103 speeding offences. He was busted after being pulled up for a parking violation in his Honda Accord. Similarly, former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ official Tata Safari was found speeding multiple times, and the accumulated fines were later exempted by the traffic police as many state functionaries are exempt. You can read that story here.

Tata Altroz will be the next big launch from the Indian manufacturer. The all-new Altroz has been spotted multiple times under heavy camouflage on the Indian roads. It will be the first car from the manufacturer that will be launched in the premium hatchback segment in India. But before that, Tata has officially released a teaser video that shows the side of the Tata Altroz.

The Tata Altroz was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show. However, the production version of the premium hatchback will be different from the pre-production version. However, both the vehicles look almost identical except for a few small details. The all-new Tata Altroz will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz in the segment. It will be launched by the end of this year or in January 2020.

It is the first car that will utilise the new Agile Light Flexible Architecture (ALFA) platform from Tata Motors. Just like all the new Tata vehicles in the Indian market, the Altroz will also follow the new IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. It gets a sleek set of headlamps. The headlamps are integrated into the grille with a humanity line flowing through the width of the vehicle.

The vehicle’s wheel arches are flared and it gets deep creases on the side that adds a very masculine theme to the vehicle. The window line of the Tata Altroz gets a black insert that adds a very sophisticated look to the premium hatchback. In the teaser, we can see the diamond-cut alloy wheels that are likely to be around 16-inches. At the rear, the Tata Altroz gets an interesting design. It gets a black insert that connects both the tail lamps. The tail lamps are all LED and look very sleek.

Tata Altroz

The cabin of the Tata Altroz will be similar to the Nexon but it looks quite premium. It gets a floating-type infotainment screen that will get the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay system. The steering wheel gets all the controls to control the infotainment system. The vehicle’s AC vents also get accents that match the body colour. The contrasting colour on the all-black dashboard looks very interesting.

The console of the Tata Altroz will be similar to the Tata Harrier. However, it will get a different overall shape. To start with, the shape of the console will be more on the squarer side rather than the rounded shape of the Harrier. The hybrid digital-analogue system will be carried over from the Harrier.

The engine options of the all-new Altroz are not known yet. However, it is likely to get the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine that powers the Tata Nexon too. The diesel engine option will the same 1.5-litre block. However, the power and torque figures are expected to be different from the Nexon.

There is no doubt in the fact that Kia Motors has captured the mid-size SUV segment in India with their first launch – the Seltos. With the all-new vehicle in the Indian market, the Kia Seltos is currently is at the number 5 position on the sales chart. The Seltos is selling like hot cakes in India, however, the unavailability of the AWD system has not gone down well with many off-road enthusiasts. Well, after five months of the launch of the Seltos in India, it has entered the USA market officially and the manufacturer has showcased two different heavily modified versions of the Seltos that look outrageous!

Seltos 1

The modified Kia Seltos showcased officially are in two different forms. Both the vehicles showcased are lifted by 2-inch lift kit that adds a badass look to the vehicles. Kia has named one of the vehicles as Seltos X-Line Trail Attack while the other one is the X-Line Urban. Both the vehicles are in the concept stage and there are no reports suggesting that they will enter the production anytime soon.

Seltos 5

The X-Line Trail Attack showcased by Kia is built to do hardcore of-roading. The vehicle gets a new bumper, which is much more rugged than the stock and also has a red towing hook installed on it. The off-road spec bumper will be quite helpful to remove the rocks and bushes on the trails. The rims and tyres are off-road specs, which ensures maximum grip on any kind of surface. It also gets eight extra lamps to ensure proper lit up the trail at night. Four of the lights are mounted on the front bumper while the other four are mounted on the roof carrier. It also gets anti-scratch films installed on the wheel arches to ensure that the body remains safe and sound.

Seltos 4

The other concept that was showcased officially by Kia Motors is the X-Line Urban. This model is more for city driving. The vehicle gets a small crash guard in front with a golden skid plate installed underneath. The alloy wheels have also been replaced with new, golden coloured wheels. There are two red hooks installed permanently on the bumper, which will be quite useful in case the vehicle gets stuck somewhere. Apart from these changes, the vehicle also gets a hood scoop that feeds air to the engine directly. Also, there is a similar roof carrier with an extra set of four lamps on this vehicle.

Seltos 2

Kia Seltos is expected to get a lot of attention in the USA market. It gets a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, an AWD system and a 10-year warranty in the USA market!

Watch a burly Mahindra XUV300 owner lift a Maruti Dzire out of his way, and roll on [Video]

$

Indian and road etiquettes do not go hand-in-hand and we see examples of the same every day. The bad habits like the parking the vehicle anywhere is something that can choke a road within minutes. Bad parking is one of the major causes of traffic jams in India, especially on the crowded city roads. Here is a video that shows a frustrated Mahindra XUV300 owner showing his strength and moving a vehicle out of his way on a narrow road.

The video has become viral and was shared by a police officer from Punjab. In the video, a Mahindra XUV300 can be seen stuck on the road due to the almost no space left on the road. After seeing the vehicle in the middle of the road, the owner of the Mahindra XUV300, who was also driving the vehicle got out of the vehicle and then did something unexpected. He rested his back against the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and then power lifted it. He moved it by a couple of feet to clear the way ahead for the Mahindra XUV300.

Everyone around was quite surprised to see the way he power lifted the whole vehicle and then shifted it to the side of the road. A person can be seen giving a thumbs up to the Mahindra XUV300 owner too. The Mahindra XUV300 then passed the parked Dzire.

The Dzire seen in the video is the older-generation sedan, which is not available in the market anymore. The fact that the person moved the whole vehicle alone is quite astonishing. The all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is based on the HEARTECT platform, which is quite lightweight. The older-generation Dzire was heavier and weight at least 1,070 kg. Moving the whole vehicle by a foot or two alone is not a small feat to achieve.

Maruti Dzire Xuv300 Owner Lift Featured

There are many such videos from around the world where strongmen can be seen doing such stunts on the roads. However, moving a sedan is a big deal. The identity of the Mahindra XUV300 owner could not be ascertained but we do hope that he announces the secret behind his strength and power.

One should always be extremely careful while parking their vehicle on the public roads. Even though many areas do not allow cars to be parked on the side of the roads, most motorists do not pay heed and do it anyway. Even though the police ensure that they tow and remove such illegally parked vehicles from the roads, most of the time such vehicles stay under the radar of the cops. It is extremely important to make way for the other vehicles on the road and park the vehicle in such a way that others can pass through easily.

A facelifted Hyundai Elantra and a new Onyx edition for the Skoda Octavia could do little to slow down the Honda Civic, which continues to be India’s best selling D-Segment sedan. In October 2019, the Honda Civic managed to clock 436 units while sales of the Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis sedans managed 59, 236 and 90 units respectively.

Honda Civic 1

Between March to October 2019, Honda has sold 4,375 units of the Civic, and the sedan has single-handedly boosted overall sales of the D-Segment space, which was been on a steep decline for years. Between March-October 2019, the D-Segment sedan segment clocked 4,763 units, a 9.5 % rise in sales when compared to 4,350 units in the same period last year that the Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and the Hyundai Elantra together managed.

Mr. Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director – Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said

The comeback of the Civic this year has given the much needed boost to the executive sedan segment and its one of the few segments which have grown despite the current market slowdown. This reaffirms our confidence in the sedan category that there are customers who prefer sedans for their stylish looks and superb driving dynamics. We are thankful to our esteemed customers who have reaffirmed their love for Civic and helped it lead the segment sales.

The Civic sold in India is available with two engine options: a 1.8 liter-4 cylinder naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol with 138 Bhp-174 Nm, and a 1.6 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged i-DTEC diesel with 118 Bhp-300 Nm. While the petrol engine is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox, the diesel powers the front wheels of the sedan through a 6 speed manual gearbox. The Honda Civic sedan is known for its refinement, spacious interiors and a well rounded set of features. Prices of the Honda Civic start from Rs. 17.94 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.

The car, which was launched in March 2019, is assembled by Honda through the completely knocked down (CKD) kit route. Its rivals also use the same route into India. The Toyota Corolla Altis, which is at the end of its lifecycle, is priced from Rs. 16.46 lakhs while the recently facelifted Hyundai Elantra is priced from Rs. 15.9 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. The only European car in the D-Segment, the Skoda Octavia, is priced from Rs. 16 lakhs. Clearly, the Civic is the costliest car among the D-Segmenters and its success despite the steep pricing shows how strong the badge is in the Indian market.

JRD Tata, Ratan Tata and Dhirubhai Ambani are some of the most prominent businessmen in India who need no introduction. While the success in creating a huge business empire is something that is common between the three of them, another mutual interest of the three businessmen is luxury cars. All three of these businessmen drove around in extremely luxurious vehicles. Only a few of you may know about the exotic vehicles used by the three businessmen. Here is one of the most exotic vehicles of each of them.

JRD Tata

Mercedes Benz 190D

This 1961 Mercedes Benz 190D is one of the first luxurious vehicles from the German carmaker. The 190D evolved over the years to become the modern-day Mercedes-Benz E-Class. JRD Tata bought this vehicle in 1961 but it took over six months for the vehicle to arrive in India from Germany. The vehicle was registered on 1st January 1962. The super classy 190D is still alive and is with a car collector. It was one of the most luxurious cars available in that era and offered features like adjustable seats and bi-focal rearview mirrors. It also gets two spare wheels, which will come in quite handy on the long trips. Powering this 190D is the 1.8-litre inline-four cylinder engine that can make the car do around 120 km/h.

Ratan Tata

Buick Skylark

Ratan Tata 3

This is a rare 1978 Buick Skylark, which was on sale in Mumbai. This vehicle was previously owned by Ratan Tata, who currently owns a range of high-end luxury vehicles. Ratan Tata loves to drive and has been spotted driving in various cars including a Ferrari, a Cadillac and a Mercedes-Benz SL over the years. He also drove mass-segment vehicles like Honda Civic. We are sure that Mr Tata must have driven this Buick Skylark on the open country roads in his prime. Nonetheless, it remains a right-hand-drive car and gets a V8 petrol engine. This one a special vehicle since it gets powered by a 5.0-litre V8 that generates around 145 Bhp.

Ratan Tata 1

Dhirubhai Ambani

BMW 750i XL L7 Limousine

Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of the Reliance empire in India grew up in a very moderate condition. After setting up the successful business, Dhirubhai Ambani upgraded his car to a super exotic BW 759i XL L7, a stretched limousine. The car was specially made for the South-East Asian, European and Middle Eastern markets The XL in the vehicle stands for stretched vehicle and it is still in the pristine condition. The car was spotted in Mumbai with the full force of the security vehicles around it. This measures a massive 5.37 metres, which makes it longer than the current-generation BMW 7-Series that measures a massive 5.23 metres. The vehicle gets powered by 5.4-litre V12 petrol engine that generates a massive 322 Bhp of power and 490 Nm of torque. It is not known if it is armoured.

BS6 Maruti Brezza Petrol & S-Cross Petrol: Launch timeline revealed by automaker’s executive director

$

Maruti Suzuki will soon stop building the diesel powered Brezza sub-4 meter compact SUV and the S-Cross crossover as the 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet diesel engine used in these vehicles is not Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms compliant. Instead, Maruti will replace the diesel powered versions of the Brezza and S-Cross with BS6 compliant petrol powered models. The BS6 petrol versions of the Maruti Brezza and S-Cross will be launched in India between January and March 2020, just in time for the April 1st BS6 deadline.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza 2

This information comes straight from Maruti Suzuki’s Executive Director, Shashank Srivastava, who had this to tell LiveMint,

The company will soon bring the BS-VI standard petrol variant of Brezza and S-Cross. As the new emission norms are coming into force from April 1, 2020, we will bring BS-VI petrol Brezza and S Cross in the fourth quarter (January-March) of this financial year.

Presently, Maruti Suzuki sells a range of BS6 compliant petrol engined cars, but the automaker has no diesel engine that meets the stringent BS6 norms. So, by April 2020, India’s largest car maker will discontinue all diesel engined models including the Ciaz and Ertiga. Currently, the Alto 800, WagonR, S-Presso, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga and the XL6 are already available with BS6 compliant petrol engines. Maruti has already sold over 3 lakhs BS6 petrol cars in India over the past 7 months. Before April 2020, every car sold by Maruti Suzuki will be BS6 compliant.

Maruti S Cross

So, what happens to the newly 1.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine-mild hybrid that’s offered on the Ciaz and Ertiga?

Considering the fact that most car makers in India, including Maruti Suzuki’s prime competitors – Hyundai-Kia, Tata Motors and Honda, will continue to persist with diesel powered cars that are BS6 compliant, it’s unlikely that Maruti will totally abandon diesel. The automaker is likely to bring back diesel powered models, through the BS6 compliant 1.5 liter engine, if it sees enough demand for diesel powered cars. On when this will happen remains uncertain for now.

Diesel powered cars will become a lot more pricier than petrol engined models once the BS6 norms come into place. This is the main reason for Maruti to steer away from diesels as the price increase is likely to make small diesel cars unattractive to most buyers. But on bigger cars and SUVs, buyers may be willing to bear the cost increase as diesel cars continue to be most economical than petrol engined cars for those who drive longer monthly distances.

Tesla, the brand which is known for its innovations and futuristic technology has launched a brand-new vehicle in the USA market. This is Tesla’s first-ever pick-up truck and it is christened as Cybertruck. After the vehicle was caught testing, a lot of hype was built around it and it has been finally revealed by the American electric car manufacturer. The truck has been launched in the USA at a price of $30,000 that translates roughly to INR 25 lakhs.

Looking at the truck itself, it brings out the unconventional design that only incorporates straight lines and creases all over the body. There are no circular or smooth flowing lines on the body of the Cybertruck. In fact, even the wheel arches of the truck are angular in shape. Even the interior of the truck continues to follow the same design philosophy and it gets straight design lines all over. At the front, the Cybertruck gets an edge-to-edge lightbar that functions as headlamps, fog lamps and the turn indicators. Even the rear of the vehicle gets a lightbar for the tail lamps and turn indicators.

The body of this futuristic truck is made out of 30X cold-rolled steel that is extremely sturdy. Elon Musk during the launch event said that this is the same material that Tesla will use in their future spaceships. Well, to demonstrate the strength of the body, a sledgehammer was used to beat the door panel of the truck and not a single dent or scratch appeared on the panel. Also, Tesla claims that it can stop a 9mm bullet shot. The windshields are made of Tesla armour glass and are much sturdier than the regular automotive windshields. The body also acts as an exoskeleton.

The vehicle rides on an adaptive air suspension system that can be raised completely to get a massive 406.5mm of ground clearance. On the highways, it can be lowered to get the best grip out of the tarmac at faster speeds.

The vehicle is available in three different motors and trims. The base version of the Tesla Cybertruck gets a single electric motor that powers the rear wheels of the truck. It has a range of 250 miles while there is a dual-motor AWD version that 300 miles range. The most expensive and most powerful is the Tri-motor version of the Cybertruck that does 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds! For reference, the Lamborghini Urus can do the same in 2.93 seconds. To show the immense power, Elon Musk demonstrated a video that shows tug-of-war between Ford F150 and the Tesla Cybertruck. The Cybertruck can be seen dominating the challenge!

The most powerful version of the truck can tow 6,350 kg and has a flatbed length of 6.5 feet! It also gets autopilot mode as standard. The approach angle of the vehicle is 35 degrees while the departure angle is set at 28 degrees.

Tesla has started taking the bookings for the Cybertruck officially and the deliveries are expected to start in 2021. The production of the truck will start in the second half of 2021. The tri-motor variant will be launched in 2022.

Tata Motors, one of the biggest car manufacturers in India is currently working on a slew of upcoming cars for the Indian market. The first of the launches that will happen in the market is the all-new Altroz hatchback. Tata has announced that the launch will officially happen on January 2020 but it is yet to reveal the exact date.

Altroz 1

Tata will officially unveil the Indian-spec Altroz next month and the bookings are expected to start soon after. The launch strategy will be similar to the Tata Harrier, which was launched earlier this year in the Indian market. Tata Motors started accepting the bookings for the Harrier much before the official launch of the vehicle and amassed thousands of pre-booking.

The all-new Altroz will be the brand’s first premium hatchback. It will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz in the Indian market. The all-new Altroz is the first vehicle that will utilise the ALFA platform of the brand. Since Tata has always been aggressive when it comes to pricing, we can expect the Altroz to be the most affordable vehicle in the segment.

Altroz 4

Tata Motors has officially started releasing the teaser videos of the upcoming Altroz and it looks similar to the pre-production Altroz that was showcased by the manufacturer at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle has been caught testing multiple times under a camouflage on the Indian roads too. It follows the IMPACT 2.0 design language and gets a sleek, streamlined design. The front of the Altroz looks smooth with the headlamps smoothly integrated to the grille. The bumper gets huge fog lamps and LED DRL that give it a split headlamp illusion. Tata is expected to offer all-LED headlamps on the top-end version of the Altroz. At the rear, the new car gets a futuristic design. There is a thick black stripe that connects both the LED tail lamps of the car. From the side, the Altroz gets large windows and looks quite good.

Altroz 3

On the inside, the Tata Altroz will follow a similar design theme as the Tata Harrier. It gets a floating-type, touchscreen infotainment system in the middle and contrasting highlights on the AC vents. The background interior colour of the Altroz remains black. Other than that, the vehicle gets a similar analogue-digital hybrid infotainment system similar to the Harrier. However, it will be a slightly of boxy shape.

Tata is expected to offer as many as three engine options. There will be two petrol engines and a diesel engine. The lower-end variants are likely to get the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine while the higher-end variants will get the turbocharged version of the engine. The diesel variants will get the 1.5-litre engine. All the engine options will comply with the BS6 norms.

Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has just picked up a retro motorcycle. Brahma Motors of Pune delivered a spanking new Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 to the actor recently, in the Mister Clean paint scheme. Mister Clean refers to the full-chrome paint scheme on the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, giving the motorcycle a very retro look. The Mister Clean paint scheme is also the most expensive trim level that the GT 650 comes in. It’s priced at Rs. 3.5 lakhs, on-road Pune. The Continental GT 650 is the most affordable cafe racer styled motorcycle sold in India.

Clip-on handlebars, a long, chiselled fuel tank, seat cowl and rear set footpegs are the key design highlights of the Continental GT 650. The motorcycle is aimed at those looking for a stylish, retro motorcycle mainly for weekend riding.

The ergonomics are quite aggressive, which makes commuting on the GT 650 suitable only for fit riders. The Continental GT 650 shares its mechanicals with the Interceptor 650, a slightly cheaper roadster-styled retro motorcycle that was launched along with the GT 650 about a year ago in the Indian market.

Jackie Shroff With His Royal Enfield Continental Gt650 2

Both motorcycles share a newly developed 647cc, four stroke twin cylinder engine. The parallel twin gets a 270 degree firing order, and makes 47 Bhp of peak power and 52 Nm of peak torque. A slip assist clutch is standard, and the gearbox is a six speed unit. The engine is air-oil cooled, and gets four valve heads running a single overhead camshaft. Fuel injection is standard on this engine. Smooth, refined performance across the rev range and a flat torque curve with 80 % of the torque available right from 2,500 rpm are the stand out bits of this newly developed engine.

Royal Enfield could introduce this engine on more of its retro-range of mid-capacity motorcycles in the coming years. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is one such motorcycle while the Thunderbird 500 is also said to be waiting in the wings for the new engine.  Early next year, the BS6 version of this engine will be available on the Interceptor and Continental GT 650. For now, the retro-motorcycle maker is working on upgrading the 350cc platform to meet Bharat Stage 6 norms. The BS6 compliant Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird range of motorcycles will move to a completely new platform. The engine is likely to get bigger and more powerful. Styling will change significantly, and so will many cycle parts. Royal Enfield is likely to discontinue the 500cc range of motorcycles when the BS6 norms come into place in April 2020.

Renault Kwid-based compact SUV: What it could look like

$

French car manufacturer Renault has been in the country for a while now. One of the most popular car they offer here in India is the Kwid hatchback. Kwid recently got a facelift months ago and that has helped Renault to maintain the sales number in the highly competitive budget hatchback segment. Renault is also working on a new compact SUV for Indian market.

Renault Kwid Compact Suv

This Compact SUV is based on CMF-A platform and will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue. The CMF-A platform is the same platform on which Kwid hatchback and Triber MPV are built. Just like Kwid, the new compact SUV from Renault is also supossed to be a global product. Here we have a speculative render from Kleber Silva which shows how this upcoming sub-4 meter compact SUV might end up looking like.

First things stands out in this rendered image is the paint scheme. The artist has chosen to go with a mustard yellow paint job which resembles a lot with the paint scheme in a Triber. The front end of the new compact SUV which Renault for time being calls HBC SUV looks a lot like Triber. Those upswept headlamps, big imposing grille and a silver color faux skid plate to complete that SUV look. The roof gets a black finish with rails on them. The alloy wheels and the cladding on the wheel arches give it a proper SUV stance. Images of the rear are not available as of now, so it is totally left on our imagination to figure out how it would look like.

Talking about the engine part, none of the vehicles using CMF-A platform uses a diesel engine. (Kwid and Triber). They are all currently powered by a 3 cylinder, naturally aspirated units. One is an 800cc unit that makes about 54 Bhp-72 Nm, and the other is a 1 liter unit with 67 Bhp-91 Nm. Renault has also indicated that it is clearly moving away from diesels from April 2020, when the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms come into force. What this also means is, the Renault HBC compact SUV will be a petrol-only offering. Possibly, CNG and LPG options could be offered in future. It remains to be seen if Renault chooses a naturally aspirated or a turbocharged unit for the HBC SUV. The Renault HBC compact SUV is likely to be launched in India next year.

One year after the launch or rather relaunch of Jawa brand in the country with models like Jawa (Classic) and Jawa 42. Classic legends recently launched their third bike Perak for Indian market. Jawa Perak is a bobber and one of its kind. Perak is the first bike from an Indian manufacturer to roll out as a factory custom bobber. It also happens to be the most affordable bobber available in the country right now. The Jawa Perak is launched with a price tag of Rs 1.94 lakh, ex-showroom. Here is a detailed image gallery of the recently launched Jawa Perak motorcycle.

Jawa Perak 8

With Perak Jawa has started a whole new segment of affordable factory custom bobber in the country and for that reason it has no direct competition. Jawa Perak has a unique design language which is typically seen in a bobber style motorcycle. with everything stripped down except for the essentials, it is quite minimalist which is what exactly a bobber should be.

The bike has a low slung stance and its fenders have been chopped off to reveal the fat rear tyre. Other elements which make it unique are those gorgeous bar-end mirrors, round-shaped headlamp unit and a handlebar having relaxed riding position. The single piece seat adds to the character of the bike and the tail light is placed right under the seat It gets a telescopic suspension at the front and monoshock for the rear. Icing on the cake are the mean looking matte black paint job with golden streaks and the unique bobber styled exhaust pipe.

Jawa Perak 1

Talking about the engine of the Perak, it is basically the same engine used in the Jawa (Classic) and Jawa 42. The only difference here is that it now has a bigger bore. The Jawa Perak uses 334 cc, four-stroke, fuel injected, single-cylinder unit that produces a maximum power of 30 Bhp and 31 Nm of torque. The engine is BS 6 compliant. Jawa Perak gets dual channel ABS as standard as per the new safety norms.

Jawa Perak 5

Even though Jawa has launched Perak, bookings for the bike will only be starting from January 2020 and the deliveries for the bike will be starting from April 1st next year. Just like the other two Jawas (Jawa and Jawa 42), we hope Perak also gets an overwhelming response from the buyers.

Jawa Perak 4

Both the Jawa 42 and Classic will get the more powerful 332cc engine from the Perak. The bigger engined variants will be positioned above the regular variants. A launch by the middle of 2020 is likely for the bigger engined Jawa Classic and 42 models.
