Knight Rider was an American action crime drama television series. It got originally aired on television from 1982 to 1986. One of the major attraction of this TV series was KITT, who was an artificially intelligent car that can talk and do stuff and was nearly indestructible. The show had a great fan base mainly because of the high tech car featured in it. There are many replicas of KITT around the world but here we have a Knight rider KITT car that looks very similar to the one that was seen on the TV show.

The video has been uploaded by Supercar Blondie on her Youtube channel. She is pretty stoked to see the car. The car looks just like the one featured in the series. The paint job, lights, body styling everything looks the same. The video starts by anchor talking to the car where it introduces itself and does a bit of chit chat using voice commands. This feature was originally there in the KITT in the series as well where it can easily talk to the David Hasselhoff who was the Knight rider.

On the outside the car has a sloping hood which gives it a sharp look and makes it look like a car that can go really fast because in the series KITT’s top speed was 300 miles per hour. Although in real life top speed is nowhere near that as the owner confirms in the video. he interiors look like something from a space ship with all the control panels and buttons of all sort with a space ship inspired steering wheel.

Knight Rider Featured

All the buttons on the panel are functional and produce different sounds like firing a gun, launching a rocket, Police siren which the owner never uses while on road and so on. Unlike some weirdly modified cars, the owner of the KITT tells that the car meets all the regulation and is absolutely road legal. The KITT car is actually based on Pontiac Firebird and gets a 5.0L V8 engine under the hood. The owner also confirms that the car has been completely restored with original parts. The anchor then takes the car out for a spin and it catches attention from lot of public as many of them have grown watching this series and this car brought back the memories. This car should immediately connect with those who have grown up watching the Knight Rider American TV series.

Tiago 2

There are not many examples of modified Tiago’s in the country. Here we have a regular Tata Tiago that has been modified by Wolf Moto from Kerala. The variant chosen here for modification looks like the top-end trim XZ+. The car looks normal from the outside and no modifications are done to the exterior of the car. The Tiago used here is a petrol version which gets 1.2L Revotron naturally aspirated engine producing 84 Bhp and 115 Nm torque. The car now produces a maximum of 91 Bhp which is way more than the stock version.

Tiago 1

The Toyota Fortuner lands on two cars parked in the neighbourhood. According to the reports, no one is injured in the incident except for the driver of the car, who was driving alone. The 25-year old driver was already suffering from health issues, which caused the loss of control.

The police officers who are investigating the matter said that the driver, who has been identified as Rajinder Singh suffered major seizures. This caused him to lose all the control over the vehicle and the SUV kept on going forward. Rajinder was taken for medical examination and the report revealed that there was no alcohol in his blood. The driver is currently in the hospital and is undergoing treatment. The family of the driver is with him. It is not known if the police have registered a case against the driver. The owners of the vehicles have registered a complaint against the driver for damaging their vehicles.

Fortuner Flying Featured

Having seizures while driving can be extremely dangerous. Automobiles are heavy machinery and one should get proper tests and health check-up before getting the vehicle on the roads. Losing control over the vehicle can cause massive accidents that can even turn fatal. Luckily, the streets were relatively empty where this accident took place in Chandigarh.

In the past, many accidents have happened due to the heart failure of the driver and similar seizures. Such incidents and medical condition are extremely scary, especially on the busy Indian roads, where an unmanned vehicle can bring havoc. There are clauses in the MV Act under which the people with serious health issues are not allowed to drive on the public roads. However, cops and people do not pay much attention to it and do not care about these laws much. In developed countries, there are health check-ups done on the driver before a driver license is issued to avoid any such issues. However, the Indian system may take years before such a provision starts. Till then, it is important to get proper health check-up before driving on the public roads.

28tata Altroz Review

There is only a single picture of both the vehicles together and it compares the front of the car. The Tata Altroz offers a very sleek design compared to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. However, the design of the vehicles is a subjective matter and it will be best decided by the buyers.

Initially, the Tata Altroz will be offered with two engine choices. There will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 86 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. Even the diesel engine gets a 5-speed manual transmission and there is no automatic option available. Tata, however, has clarified that they are working on the automatic versions of the Altroz and it will launch later this year.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is priced at Rs 5.58 lakhs for the entry-level variant and it is currently the best-selling vehicle in the segment followed by the Hyundai Elite i20. Toyota Fortuner is one of the most popular full size SUV in the country on sale in the country. It is popular among buyers for reasons like it’s intimidating looks and reliable engine along with a bearable maintenance cost. Toyota Fortuner is not just all show and go, it is a very capable vehicle on and off the road and we have featured articles on our website showing Fortuner’s capabilities in the past. Fortuner has been a very popular SUV in it’s segment ever since it’s launch and now with the second-gen Fortuner the  popularity has only increased. Here we have video that show how the Fortuner wold look like, if it were to be launched with a Coupe-ish design.

The video has been uploaded by SRK Designs The video shows a rendered image of current generation Toyota generation which gets a coupe design. The artist has completely changed the front of the SUV. Starting with the headlights, they are now placed on the bumper. They look similar to the one seen in Tata Harrier. Above that there is a LED DRL which meets the all black grille at the front. The bumper also gets a new skid plate and a bar at the front. all the chrome elements have been taken away from the front. Even the Toyota logo has been replaced with SRK badging.

Coming to the side profile of the car, first change that has happened are those rugged off-road tyres with all black alloys. The SUV looks a bit more raised and has cladding on all the  wheel arches. Coming to the top, the roof is pretty flat and start getting a slope after the C Pillar. The slope ends right above the tail lamp units. Due to this coupe design, the Fortuner can only seat 5 people now as the third row will lack headroom. Overall look of the Toyota Fortuner coupe is pretty fantastic and looks sport enough. There are only few SUVs that has integrated the coupe design into an SUV. One being the BMW X6 and the other Mercedes-Benz GLC.

Toyota Fortuner Coupe Featured

Toyota has no plans to launch Fortuner in this avatar and is purely an outcome of artist’s imagination. Toyota Fortuner is powered by a 2.7L petrol and a 2.8L diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 164 Bhp and 245 Nm torque whereas the diesel engine produces 174 Bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque. The petrol powered Fortuner is not offered with a four wheel drive layout.

Jeep Compass Diesel Automatic: Cheaper 4X2 & 4X4 trims coming soon with BS6 compliance

Jeep compass is one of the highest-selling vehicle from the brand in our country and it competes with cars like Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson in the segment. It is fairly equipped SUV in the segment, but one of the major convenience feature missing in the Compass as of now is the availability of a diesel automatic transmission. Currently the diesel engine with automatic transmission is only available in the TrailHawk version, which is way more expensive than the normal Jeep Compass. Jeep is now working on a diesel automatic version and is expected to launch in the market soon.

According Autocar India, Jeep will soon be launching an automatic transmission with diesel 4×4 variant. As per the report Jeep will bring in diesel automatic with their BS6 compliant diesel engine. As of now only the TrailHawk variant gets a BS6 compliant engine. The upcoming Jeep Compass 4×4 diesel automatic will be initially available in Longitude and Limited Plus variants.

12jeep Compass Trailhawk Diesel Automatic

The BS6 4×4 version will get all the features that are there in the current BS4 4×4 version. Compared to the BS4 Longitude variant, the diesel automatic variant will get some additional features like 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system, Dual-zone climate control, Cruise control, Rear view camera and dual tone upholstery. The diesel automatic transmission will initially be introduced in the 4×4 variants but will eventually make its way to the 4×2 trims as well.

Jeep Compass Black Pack

Jeep 4×2 contributes to the major share of sales in the country at the moment and it would only help Jeep increase the sales if they launch the 2WD diesel version with the convenience of an automatic transmission. The Compass will continue to draw its power from a 2.0L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. This time the difference would be that the engine is compliant to the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The engine will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox which will generate 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque.

We can definitely expect a hike in price of Compass when the automatic gearbox with the BS6 engine gets launched. Report also suggests that Jeep India has plans to expand their product portfolio in the coming years and will also be considering the possibilities of manufacturing cars and SUVs in India to keep the costs down, as we are a price sensitive market.

Cop tries to stop a speeding bike with ‘triple riders’: Gets mowed down [Video]

To stop the traffic miscreants in India, the cops sometimes take drastic steps on the road. In the past, we have seen rogue motorists driving with cops stuck on the bonnets of their vehicles for kilometres and times when vehicles did not slow down for the cops to escape the fines. Well, here is a new video that shows a police constable getting mowed down by a bike rider in Mumbai.

The incident happened on a relatively empty street in Mumbai. According to the video, three riders on a single bike were speeding through the street when a traffic constable came in front of them. Since they were on a high speed, they could not stop in time and hit the cop who had jumped in front of them to stop the riders. It seems like that the bikers had an intention to speed away from the police and escape any kind of fines but they could not avoid the collision at the last moment.

The reckless riding was caught on the CCTV installed on the road. The cop is currently in a hospital and is undergoing treatment for his injuries. However, the scale of injuries is not known. The bikers have been detained for trying to flee from the police constable.

Cop Mumbai Featured

It should be noted that there are many such incidents where the motorists in cars and two-wheelers try to flee from the cops. It creates a dangerous situation for themselves and the people around them.

At the starting of the video, the cop can be spotted walking on the middle of the road on a blind turn in the wrong direction. The three riders appear suddenly at high speed and in a bid to stop them, the cop jumped in front of them. The biker applied the brakes but due to the momentum, he could not slow down or stop the bike before the cop. It caused a severe crash between the two.

Even though it is important to stop the miscreants from getting away, this is purely a dangerous way of stopping the motorists on the road. Earlier, the authorities said that there should not be any chasing on the roads and online fines should be sent to the culprits to avoid any such incidents where people can get injured. This is not the first time that such an incident has happened. In the past, a female police constable was dragged by a lady on her scooter for several metres after the cop tried stopping her. There are several incidents where cops have been dragged on the bonnet of the cars. The cops should deploy more digital means like online challan system to overcome such hurdles.

There is no report of the bikers getting injured during the incident. Also, the cops have not said if they are going to put any charges on the reckless riders.
