As new cars are becoming extremely expensive, the prices of used cars in the market have become very attractive. Many of us want to own luxury brands, especially the German ones but due to the hefty price tags that they come with, it becomes almost impossible for most to own such vehicles. However, their value in the used car market depreciates quite quickly, making them within the reach of the people. Here is an Audi A4, which is quite well-maintained and is priced lower than a Kia Seltos.

Audi A4 2

The Audi A4 listed on the used car website – Spinny shows a 2014 Audi A4 model, which is priced only at Rs 16.5 lakh. It has been driven for 33,452 km. According to the information provided, it is still owned by the first owner and is registered in Gurugram, Haryana. However, the car is located in Sector 38, Noida where one can go and check the vehicle personally.

Audi A4 1

It is only 5-year old and the value is less than 50% of that of a new model, which makes it one of the best deals available in the market. The advert also shows the pictures of the vehicles, which indicates that the vehicle has been a well-maintained model. It also says that there are no dents in the external body parts of the vehicle. Also, all the body panels are original and none of them has been replaced.

Audi A4 3

The alloys are also in perfect condition. The car has never been involved in a major accident, which is why the pillars are intact and no repairs have been done to them. The body panels have been inspected for rust and no rust has been found too. However, there are minor scratches on the front bumper and the bonnet of the vehicle. Also, the right quarter panel has been repaired. Apart from that, the right fender, right running board, rear right door, rear bumper and left quarter panel have been repainted.

The interior of the vehicle is also in pristine condition and everything in the instrument cluster is working just fine. As for the tyres, the front wheels are at about 20% of their life while the rear wheels are at about 40% of their life. The spare tyre has never been used and is in a brand-new condition. The vehicle comes with a 1-year comprehensive warranty. However, it is not known if the first owner chose to get an extended warranty on the vehicle.

Audi A4 4

It gets powered by the truly tried and tested 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 141 Bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm. It gets an automatic transmission as standard. The car gets a long list of features, which truly makes it a great choice in this price.

India’s largest passenger car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is currently working on a small micro SUV called S-Presso, which will be launched on 30th of September. Now a report from ACI has revealed spy pics of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. This is the first time ever that the S-Presso has been spotted without any camouflage.

Maruti S Presso

The S-Presso is the production version of the Future-S Concept that was earlier shown at the Delhi Auto Expo. The micro-SUV like stance of the car suggests that it is aimed squarely at the Mahindra KUV100. From the images we can see that the S-Presso has retained the boxy shape which we had seen on the Future S Concept. The bonnet line is kept quite high and has almost square shaped headlamps. It seems like the whole car has a boxy design language.

There is chrome on the front grille to give it a micro SUVish look and feel, just like the one we have already seen on Renault Kwid. Other details that we could notice are the big SUV like wheel arches, steels rims instead of alloys and blacked out B-Pillar. Another detail is the positioning of the turn indicator. it is integrated within the front fender and LED DRLs are also positioned under the headlights.

Interior and rear images are not available as of now, but we in the rear we expect a plain design like on the side profile of the vehicle. While reports suggest that the interiors of the S-Presso are likely to follow a dark grey theme. but we think it could also be something like beige theme which would make the interiors feel more airy. The upcoming S-Presso is also expected to get features like a touchscreen infotainment system which will hopefully support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as this is a feature that its rival currently offer.

Engine details of the new Maruti micro SUV are not available as of now. Like the Renault Kwid and the Mahindra KUV100, the S-Presso will only be available with a petrol engine option and it will be the BS6 compliant version of the 1.0 litre , three cylinder K10B unit. This engine churns out 68 Bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque. S-Presso is likely to get a manual and an AMT transmission and a total of four variants are likely to be made available. Maruti Suzuki plans to position the car such so as to aim young professionals, college-going students and people who are looking to buy a stylish car as their first vehicle. It is likely to be priced under Rs 5 lakh bracket. S-Presso will not be replacing any of the existing models and will be sold through Arena dealership networks across the country.

The engine that powers the Harrier Dark Edition is the same 2 liter Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel with 140 Bhp-350 Nm. A 6 speed manual gearbox drives the front wheels. Tata is expected to launch a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox option in the same engine by the end of this year. It will again in turn boost  up the sales of this SUV . Tata Motors is also expected to roll out a more powerful state of tune for the 2 liter diesel engine when it is made Bharat Stage compliant. Royal Enfield Classic 350 modified into a Harley Davidson lookalike bobber [Video]

$

0

Harley Davidson is probably one of the most recognized motorcycle manufacturer names around the world. The brand made its foray into our country last decade and has been offering its full model lineup here since then, barring a few models though. Harley bikes are also a great source of inspiration for modifiers around the country as they try to recreate the same look by modifying other affordable motorcycles. In such Harley inspired mod jobs, Royal Enfield bikes are the most popular ones to be chosen by modifiers. The video below by Vampvideo also shows a similar concept where a regular Royal Enfield motorcycle has been modified into a Harley Davidson lookalike. Let’s now check out the video before going over the details of this mod job.

This Harley lookalike bobber started off its life as a regular Royal Enfield Classic 350 but now has been transformed into a hot looking bike. The front end gets a fat 140 mm tire along with a chopped fender to make its intentions clear on the first sight. The indicators are clear plastic aftermarket units while the headlamp is a projector unit. The stock handlebars have been swapped with a Vardhenchi unit while the instrument pod is all digital now. Just like the handlebars, the silencer pipe is also a Vardhenchi aftermarket unit and sounds pretty good without being too loud.

The tank is a typical Harley Davidson inspired peanut design piece that is then followed by a stylish black saddle. Both these elements give the bike its typical bobber look and that lime green shade further accentuates the aesthetics. An aftermarket air-filter is also in place to help the engine breathe better. The rear tire is also quite a fat unit shod on stylish machined rims. A chopped fender caps the wheels and gets a thin LED strip that acts as the tail light. All in all, this modified Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a pretty decent mod job that will grab eyeballs wherever it goes.

Re Mod

Talking about the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the bike is powered by a 346cc, unit construction engine that pumps out 19.8 Bhp of power along with 28 Nm of torque. The motor gets a carburettor as standard, along with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Royal Enfield is currently developing the newer generation models of the Thunderbird and Classic range that will feature BSVI engine along with a lot of other changes. Expect the new generation Classic 350 to be launched during the second quarter of next year, after the BSVI emission norms come into play. Also, the prices of the new bike is likely to be substantially higher than the current models due to the upgrades and costs involved in the BSVI transformation of the engine.

Coming soon: Maruti Brezza CNG & Petrol Hybrid

Maruti Suzuki is India’s biggest car manufacturer and their Vitara Brezza is one of the highest sold utility vehicle in the country. for over three years it was the undisputed king of the sales chart till the arrival of the Hyundai Venue. Brezza has now moved to the second position. But things might change soon as the Maruti plans to launch the Vitara Brezza with a Petrol engine and even CNG variant can also be expected.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza 2

If Maruti Suzuki launches the Brezza with a CNG option, then it would be the only SUV in its segment to offer that. It could be an added advantage in terms of sales for Maruti Suzuki as CNG equipped vehicles are known for fuel efficiency. With BS6 emission norms kicking in early next year Maruti Suzuki will stop the production of smaller diesel cars and might concentrate more on Petrol and CNG powered engines.

The Petrol engine that will be used in Brezza is the same 1.5 liter-4 cylinder K-Series unit with 104 Bhp-138 Nm on tap. This engine is already offered on Maruti Suzuki cars such as the Ciaz and Ertiga, along with mild hybrid powertrains. The Brezza Petrol is also likely to get the mild hybrid option. On the Ciaz and Ertiga, this engine gets 5 speed manual and 4 speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. The same gearbox options are likely to be carried over to the Brezza as well. There is a possibility that Maruti might replace the 1.3L engine with the new 1.5L diesel that is introduced in Ciaz and Ertiga recently.

Apart from changes in terms of engine Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is also expected to get a minor facelift as the competition in this segment is getting tougher day by day. Main competitor in front of Brezza is going to be the newly launched Venue which comes with a 1.0L turbo charged petrol, 1.2L petrol engine and a 1.4L diesel engine. the 1.0L engine is availble with a manual or a DCT transmission. while the other engine options only get manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza on the other hand only gets a diesel engine as of now. The engine in question is  the tried and tested 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel unit (which will soon be discontinued when BS6 is implemented) with 89 Bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak  torque. There are two gearboxes on offer – a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed AMT. With all these changes on the outside and inside there is a slight possibility that prices may go up.

2020 BS6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird: What it could look like

$

Royal Enfield is known to make cruiser motorcycles and most of their models in the line up have a cult following. With new emission norms kicking in from April next year, Royal Enfield has already started working on BS6 variants and have been spotted testing a couple of time. A BS6 variant of their cruiser motorcycle Thunderbird will also be launched.

2020 Bs6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird Render

Here is a rendered image of the upcoming BS6 Royal Enfield Thunderbird created by IAB on the basis of the recent spy pictures. Royal Enfield is unlikely to give the new Thunderbird a total make over from the current generation. Royal Enfield has always been a manufacturer who has focused on retro designs of the motorcycle.

Overall design of the new Thunderbird is likely to be the same. It will get the same round headlamp, round instrument cluster,  It gets an alloy wheel instead of spoke rims and disc brakes at both front and rear with dual channel ABS. Royal Enfield will continue to offer the conventional front forks, disc brakes for both the wheels, gas-charged twin shocks at the rear.

The Thunderbird BS6 variant will have a forward set footpegs and a rear set handle bar for a relaxed  riding position. The seat is also different from the current version. The BS6 variant is likely to get a split seat just like the one in Thunderbird X. Even the grab rail at the back is the same as that of current Thunderbird X. It is also likely to get a dual paint scheme as seen in the rendered image.

Coming to the rear of the bike it gets more of a soft tail design with round tail lights placed right behind the seat and respositioned indicators or blinkers. In comparison to the front, more changes are evident on the rear of the motorcycle.

The engine on the new Thunderbird motorcycle is likely to remain the same except for the fact that it will now be more cleaner and will meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. Royal Enfield will use the fuel injection system with an oxygen sensor to ensure better emission levels. However, the engine power and torque output will remain unchanged from the current version. The 350-cc version produces a maximum of 20.07 PS at 5,250 rpm and peak torque of 28 Nm at 4,000 rpm and the bigger 500-cc version produces a maximum of 27.57 PS at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The new Thunderbird with all these changes is definitely going to be expensive than the current version.

Watch RARE Suzuki WagonR ad with Leonardo Dicaprio in it [Video]

WagonR is one of the most popular hatchbacks in India. It is known for being a value for money car, offering tons of space at a reasonable price. Sold in India as the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, the hatchback is actually sold in several international countries and in many global markets including Japan, it is one of the best small hatchbacks. While the WagonR saw its Indian entry in 1999 after Hyundai captured the market with the Santro, it was being sold in the international markets since 1993. But the most interesting fact about the WagonR probably is that it was endorsed by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio for several years. That’s right, the Inception star featured in numerous TVCs of the car during his younger days. The video below by Jerry shows 4 such WagonR commercials featuring Leonardo DiCaprio.

As seen in the video, the Hollywood star is promoting the cars pretty enthusiastically in these TV commercials. The tag line of the car at that time seems to be ‘Go WagonR’ as the actor says that during every commercial. In fact, after the success of Titanic, Leo was bombarded with endorsements and he promoted several cars including the Honda Civic among others. The WagonR models shown in this video are not Indian spec models though, as the Indian spec cars were altered a bit by Maruti Suzuki to suit our conditions better.

Considered a Kei car in Japan, the WagonR is known for its distinctive tall boy design and loads of cabin space. While it may not be as enthusiast-focused in terms of driving pleasure as seen in the video above, it still offers a level of practicality that few cars can match. In India, the car was launched in 1999 after which it became an instant hit due to its affordable pricing, cabin space and a commendable fuel efficiency figure. While a lot of people are still not fond of the WagonR due to the way how it looks, the monthly sales of the car bare it all. It is the go-to car for small families who want a no-nonsense vehicle that has excellent mileage and space for everyone.

L

Talking about the current generation WagonR sold in India, it was launch on the 23rd of January this year. It gets powered by either a 1.0-litre engine or a 1.2 litre engine. The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine produces 67 Bhp of power at 5,500 rpm along with 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. Meanwhile, The 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 82 Bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 4,200 rpm. This is the same engine that also does duty on the likes of Ignis and the Swift among others. Both the engine comes with an automatic (AMT) gearbox option apart from a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The auto industry in India is currently witnessing one of its worst slowdown in decades. This has lead to an adverse effect on jobs as well as the country’s economy among other things. Manufacturers are constantly trying to beat the slowdown by offering discounts and other schemes so as to attract buyers. Several cars which used to be the top sellers of their segment are now lagging far behind in sales numbers. However, there are a few cars which have not been affected much by the economic slowdown and are still doing pretty well relatively. Let’s take a look at 5 such cars which are BEATING the slowdown like a boss.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco

Maruti Eeco 5 Seater Ac Bs Iv

Starting off the list is the Maruti Suzuki Eeco, which probably would surprise a lot many people. Unlike other cars on this list which had several class-leading features along with tons of variant on offer, the Eeco is a modest people’s carrier. However, that is its biggest selling point too as it is the most affordable way to move 7 people in India. The base model of the Eeco is priced at just Rs. 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). One of the major reasons behind its sales is the discontinuation of the Omni, which has left the Eeco as the only option in this price range. The availability of a CNG option is definitely a plus point for the Eeco.

Hyundai Venue

Venue Studiio

Hyundai’s first new car in 2019 came in the form of the Venue and the sub-4 meter SUV conquered the market shortly after. It took the coveted bestseller tag from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza which had been leading the segment since a long time. Despite being a late entrant in the sub-4 meter SUV game, the Venue quickly found success due to various reasons including its strategic pricing.

It also has a fresh design and looks quite premium in-person. The availability of both petrol and diesel engines along with an auto box option further made it likeable as there was something for every buyer. It is also stuffed with features and the trusted Hyundai aftersales support is another reason behind its success. No doubt Hyundai didn’t see a steep fall in overall sales in this period thanks to the Venue and the latest Grand i10 Nios.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

New Maruti Ertiga

Next up is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which was among the most affordable MPVs one can buy in India until now. Maruti gave a generation update to the popular nameplate at the end of 2018 and sales of the MPV have only gone up ever since. While the exact sales figures of the Ertiga are not out yet, Maruti did release a statement saying that its utility vehicle segment has shown the least amount degrowth and has been doing pretty well relatively. The Ertiga offers immense practicality along with a reasonably powerful engine which makes it a high seller. The lack of any sort of competition is another favourable point in its bag. Maruti also offers a CNG and a fleet-operator special version of the MPV, which further help its sales.

Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos is another SUV that has beaten the slowdown and has performed spectacularly in terms of sales. Kia Motors has sold 6,200 units of the Seltos compact SUV in August 2019, breaking the record of India’s best debutant automaker in terms of sales. Rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta and MG Hector among others, the Kia Seltos has a base price of Rs. 9.69 lakhs which is among the reasons behind its success.

Also, Kia offers the Seltos spread across a host of trim levels, engine options and gearbox options which means there is something for everyone looking to buy the SUV. The fact that it is a looker and comes loaded to gills with features further help the case. The Seltos is also the choice for those who want a powerful and well equipped SUV but don’t want a very big vehicle like the Tata Harrie or the MG Hector.

MG Hector

MG launched the Hector in June this year and the SUV has been selling like hotcakes ever since. Bookings of the SUV have been halted ever since they reached 28,000 in number. In August 2019, MG Hector clocked 2,018 units, which is more than 30 % higher than July 2019 sales of 1,508 units. One of the major factors for the success of the Hector is its pricing (starts at Rs. 12.18) and value for money prospects. It comes with a ton of features, f which several are segment firsts. It is also the largest SUV in its segment and looks pretty good, both of which are important factors in India.

Another reason could be the attractive offers and schemes MG is offering which includes the buyback guarantee and the waiting period rewards, where a certain amount of credit is given to those who have booked the SUV but have not received it yet. This credit can be later used to purchase official accessories at the time of delivery.
