BMW cars, especially the sedans are known for the enthusiast-centric driving characteristics. While there are many enthusiasts who would love to see a BMW parked in their garage, the expensive price tag on them almost makes it impossible for most of the buyers. Every now and then, a new BMW is added to the used car market in India. Here is one such BMW that is available in the used car market and is cheaper than a top-end Hyundai Verna!

Bmw 3 Series 3

The BMW sedan listed on OLX is priced at Rs 15.25 lakh, making it Rs 1.6 lakh cheaper than the on-road price of the top-end Hyundai Verna. The top-end Hyundai Verna SX AT diesel costs Rs 16.84 lakh, on-road in New Delhi. There is another icing on the cake here. This BMW 3-Series has covered only 15,000 km, which makes it virtually a new car. Although the vehicle here is a 2013 model, it has not been driven around much since then. The less-driven BMW also looks perfect in the pictures uploaded on the advertisement. The pictures show the car from all the angles and there is not a single scratch or dent on the body of the vehicle.

The car for sale is located in Tagore Garden, Delhi but it gets a Haryana registration number. Moreover, the advert says that the tyre condition of the BMW 3-Series sedan seen here is almost new and it also gets zero depreciation insurance. It is currently with its second owner.

Bmw 3 Series 1

The 2013 BMW 320d Prestige came powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 184 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 380 Nm between 1,750 – 2750 rpm. It gets an automatic transmission, which ensures smooth driving through city and highway situations. Since it is a diesel-powered vehicle, it gets an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.88 km/l, which is a lot for a luxury sedan.

It gets a beige interior with wooden inserts on the dashboard. There is a BMW MMI screen, which can be used to control various features in the vehicle. Even from the inside, the sedan looks pretty clean and spotless and the beige interior offers a very premium feel to the vehicle.

The sedan is much more powerful than any of the new cars available in the segment including the likes of Honda Civic. The 3-Series also gets 6 airbags and features like Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ABS+EBD, Brake Assist, Traction Control and more.

Bmw 3 Series 2

Since it is a very less driven vehicle, it will offer low-maintenance ownership. Also, the vehicle has a high attention-grabbing ability than any other vehicle from the segment in the Indian market.  The best part is the hydraulic steering wheel of the 320d, which offers a true feel of the steering wheel and perfect feedback. Powerful vehicles have not always been the priority of the Indian buyers. This is why most mass-segment vehicles that are on sale in the Indian market offer a high fuel efficiency but lack in power. This is why many enthusiasts and petrolheads choose to buy luxury vehicles from the Germans, which offer some great power regardless of fuel efficiency. However, for most of the car lovers and buyers, these vehicles stay out of their reach due to the extremely high price. Nonetheless, these vehicles are also available in the used car market at a much cheaper price after a few years of their launch. How cheap? Well, if you have the money to buy a Maruti Suzuki Dzire, you will be able to buy these vehicles too. Here is a 2008 BMW 525i, which is priced much lower than a brand-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

Bmw 3 1

The BMW for sale here is a 2008 model but it has done only 77,000 km according to the odometer. The asking price of the vehicle is Rs 6.95 lakhs only, which makes it much cheaper than the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which an entry-level sedan from the Indian manufacturer.

Bmw 3 2

Being a 525i, it is powered by a petrol engine and that too a six-cylinder one. It gets a 2.5-litre straight-six cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 2112 Bhp at 6,500 rpm and peak torque of 246 Nm of peak torque. It is pretty quick too! The sedan can do 0-100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, making it faster than any other new vehicle available in the market for Rs 7 lakhs. Also, it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 249 km/h.

Bmw 3 3

Being a BMW, it offers excellent steering feedback and the suspension is tuned to handle the corners at high speed. This is a car designed for enthusiasts. It should be noted that this is the first time that BMW introduced the 5-Series to the Indian market. The car comes with projector headlamps with the legendary corona rings design. Even the cabin gets a lot of features.

According to the advertisement on Facebook Marketplace, the car is in excellent condition and from the pictures, we can figure out that it indeed looks great. It does not have any scratches or dents on the body the paint also looks like the original. In fact, the car is still owned by the first owner, which is something unusual, especially with such high-end vehicles.

Bmw 3 4

The post further says that the car will come with a 6-month engine warranty under standard driving condition. It sure is a relief as an 11-year-old vehicle does not come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Also, the seller is offering one free service. You can contact the seller directly for more details.

Delhi police issues a fine of Rs 2 lakh to a truck driver

$

The amended Motor Vehicle Act which came into effect from 1st September 2019 has received a lot of criticism from the motorists. Traffic Police from various states are issuing huge fines to motorists who are flouting rules. Earlier, a truck driver in Delhi received a Rs 1.41 lakh fine, which became viral on the Internet. However, breaking all the previous records, Delhi Police has issued a fine of Rs 2,00,500 to a truck driver for flouting various rules.

Truck Challan 2

Delhi Police has seized the truck and it will be released only after the fine is paid at the court. The truck driver was stopped in Rohini, Delhi. The challan receipt and the list of laws that the truck driver flouted have again become viral on the social media platform.

The cops have found 10 instances of the truck and the truck driver flouting the rules and was issued the fine. The fines imposed on the truck driver are as follows; Driven without a fitness certificate, violation of permit conditions, operating without a registration certificate, carrying building materials without a cover (NGT fine), driving without a valid driving license, driving without a valid insurance policy, driving without a seatbelt, without pollution under control certificate, without permit, overloading in goods vehicle and carrying passenger in the truck. All these fines accumulated to become a hefty amount of more than Rs 2 lakh.

Truck Challan 1

It should be noted that all the fines imposed on the truck are not exclusively from the Motor Vehicle Act. There is a fine for carrying construction material in open in Delhi. This law was passed y National Green Tribunal and the fine for this is Rs 20,000. This law was made to ensure that the no trucker carries the construction material in the open.  This step was taken to reduce pollution in the national capital. Since the building material can easily fly off from an open truck, covering it is mandatory.

Also, overloading charging is not fixed. The law says that any overloaded goods vehicle will have to pay Rs 2,000 for every ton of overloaded weight. It is not known how much weight the truck was carrying exactly. It should be noted that overloading can increase pollution and is also quite dangerous as the truck can fall down due to the extremely heavy weight on top.

Truck Challan 3

The truck is currently with the Delhi Police who have seized the vehicle. It will be returned to the owner once all the fines are paid or truck owner presents the necessary documents in the court. Even after presenting the documents, the owner will have to pay a huge sum as fine as there are many other violations done by the truck driver.

Tata Altroz production version: Check out the interiors of the premium hatchback

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Altroz premium hatchback in India in a few weeks from now. The automaker has been testing the car extensively and while the images of the Altroz’s exteriors were leaked a few months ago, here’s what the car’s interiors will look like. The spyshots of the car’s dashboard and instrument cluster indicate contemporary interiors. The interiors are likely to be finished in black and grey, and there’s a blue accent running across the center console as well. Soft touch plastics seem to be on offer, and the car will get a analog-digital instrument cluster where the speedometer is an analog unit while the tachometer is digital. The steering wheel is well finished, and gets the typical Tata layout with audio controls on the left hand side while the right hand side hosts cruise control.

Tata Altroz Interiors Spyhot 1

Spyshots courtesy Team-BHP

The spyshots also indicate a five speed manual gearbox. What”s not clear is whether this particular example is a petrol or a diesel engine. There’s a strong likelihood that we’re looking at picture of the petrol powered Tata Altroz’s interiors. We are saying this as the petrol engine of the Altroz is likely to be the 1.2 liter-3 cylinder unit borrowed from the Tiago JTP.

That explains the 5 speed manual gearbox. The diesel motor is likely to be the unit from the Tata Nexon, with a 1.5 liter displacement and a 6 speed manual gearbox. Initially, the Tata Altroz is unlikely to get an automatic gearbox. The other spyshot of the prmeium hatchback’s interiors shows squarish AC vents with a satin chrome finish and the door locks also get the same finish. There are fabric seats on offer and the center console hosts a floating touchscreen infotainment unit.

Tata Altroz Interiors Spyhot 2

We expect Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a host of other features packed into the touchscreen. The stereo could be a 6/8 speaker unit from Harman. Another detail from the spyshots is that the Altroz will get automatic climate control. There’s a 12V charging socket on the center console as well. The car is expected to be launched within days from now. It will take on the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Elite i20. In terms of pricing, the Tata Altroz is likely to undercut its rivals. The Altroz will be the first car from Tata Motors to be based on the ALFA platform, which will underpin a range of new cars in the coming years.

TVS Motors has just launched the Jupiter Grande automatic scooter at a price of Rs. 62,346, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Grande is a new variant of the best-selling Jupiter line-up, and is also India’s first 110cc scooter to get Bluetooth connectivity. Owners of this scooter can use an App to sync their Android and Apple smartphones to its instrument cluster. This will beam call notification, text notification to the instrument cluster and will also send over speeding alert and trip report to the smartphone. The Jupiter Grande gets a slew of visual upgrades to look fresher than before. However, it’s mechanically unchanged. The TVS Jupiter Grande directly challenges India’s best selling automatic scooter – the Honda Activa 5G. The launch of the Jupiter Grande comes at a time when the Indian two wheeler sector is going through one of its worst slowdowns. It’s meant to boost sales during the festive season.

Tvs Jupiter Grande 1

Talking of the scooter’s mechanicals, it’s powered by a 110cc four stroke single cylinder engine that makes  7.89 BHP of peak power at 7,500 rpm and 8.4 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. These numbers are comparable to what the Honda Activa 110 makes, and is more than enough for everyday use.

The Jupiter Grande is a unisex scooter meant mainly for buyers from urban parts of India. Dimension-ally, it measures 1,834 mm in length, 650 mm in width and 1,115 mm in height. The scooter has a wheelbase of 1,275 mm and a seat height of 765 mm. Tvs Jupiter Grande 2

In terms of stylistic changes, the TVS Jupiter Grande offers a dual-tone bodywork and a cross-stitch maroon seat as key changes from the regular Jupiter. Features on the scooter include an LED headlamp, diamond cut alloy wheels, an adjustable rear shock absorber, telescopic front forks, a disc brake on the front wheel and a drum brake on the rear wheel.  A combi-braking system is standard. Automatic scooters are one of the biggest and fastest growing segments of two wheelers in India. These scooters are quite popular both among the old and young as they’re very convenient to ride in city traffic. The automatic transmission that’s standard makes them hassle free. Also, the wide footboards of such scooters make it convenient for saree-clad women, another reason why such scooter are popular among both men and women.

This modified Royal Enfield Thunderbird is one HOT looking bike

$
0
0

The Royal Enfield Thunderbird is a pretty popular bike from the Chennai based company. It was launched as a cruiser style bike which could act as both a city ride and a highway mile muncher. Adding to it was its gorgeous looks which definitely was a sole reason behind many buying the bike. Recently, Royal Enfield launched the Thunderbird X series bikes which are essentially more stylish and street smart versions of their big thunderbird counterparts. All this talking about the Thunderbird here is for a reason though, which is a handsomely modified Royal Enfield Thunderbird featured below.

Re Mod 2

Now the Thunderbird may not be as popular as the Classic when it comes to modifications but it is no less when it comes to stylish builds and macho looking mods, as is the case with this one here. Called Bravo by its makers at Bulleteer Customs, it carries a classic bobber design along with a few hints from cruiser motorcycles. For those who don’t know about Bulleteer Customs, it is a bike modification house based out of Bengaluru specializing in modifying Royal Enfield bikes. This time, the guys at Bulleteer decided to pour their magic sauce on a 2015 model Royal Enfield Thunderbird and the result is in front of us to see.

Re Mod

The bike runs on old school thick-walled tires mounted on spoked rims with white tapering. Both the front and the rear fenders have been chopped short in customary bobber style while the front headlamp has been replaced with a retro-looking single pod unit. The typical Royal Enfield instrument cluster found on the Thunderbird has given way to a modern, single pod unit that displays all relevant information to the rider.

Re Mod 4

One of the highlights of the Bravo is its tall handlebars which give it a cruiser appeal despite the rest of the build being bobber based. The tall handlebar also resets the riding triangle of the bike apart from enhancing the aesthetics of the Bravo. Moving on, we see that the fuel tank has been painted in silver with a few markings on top. Speaking of which, the rest of the bike mostly carries a black paint shade apart from the tank and the engine, which has been left stock.

$

0

Tata launched the Harrier on the 23rd on January this year and the mid-size SUV went on to become an immediate hit in the market. The stylish exteriors of the Harrier coupled with the feature-rich and spacious interiors, all made available at an attractive price point are some of the reasons behind its success. However, the Harrier has been overshadowed by the likes of the MG Hector and the smaller Kia Seltos of late. At least that’s what the sales figures suggest. Hence, buying a Harrier right now may be a good decision as the waiting periods have gone down from the previous months. However, one would still have to wait a couple of weeks in most cities to get their hands on one. For the same, here is a gleaming, almost new Tata Harrier which is up for sale at a price much lower than a new model.

Used Harrier

As seen in the images here, this Tata Harrier is in mint condition and seems to have just rolled out of the showroom. As per the ad on Cartrade, it is the top-end XZ variant and is available in Bengaluru. The asking price of this Harrier is Rs. 17.95 lakhs. On the other hand, the on-road price of the Tata Harrier XZ variant in Bengaluru is Rs. 21.14 lakhs, which translates into a difference of more than Rs. 3 lakhs in the asking price and on-road price. Going by the images, the SUV seems to in pristine condition and it has only done around 3,200 km till date as per the advertisement.

Used Harrier 3

Powering this Harrier is a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine that pumps out 140 Bhp of power along with 350 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Now since this an almost new, barely used car, there are several benefits one can reap even after buying it as a used car. This includes the manufacturer warranty cover and insurance cover since the first owner of the car has to pay insurance for at least two years according to the latest Indian government rules. So that’s another front where you’ll be benefitted.

Used Harrier 2

Since this is the top-end XZ variant of the Harrier, it comes loaded with all the bells and whistles that Tata offered with the Harrier. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, cruise control system, LED DRL, LED tail lamps, projector headlamps, drive modes, 14-function ESP, engine modes and more such features. Further, the SUV comes equipped with six airbags, which makes it quite safe. So if you have been planning to buy a Tata Harrier for some time now, this used Calisto Copper example may just be the right vehicle for you.

Fury 175 to Fantabulous scooter: FORGOTTEN Royal Enfields of India

$
0
0

Royal Enfield is a name that needs no introduction. It is the world’s oldest motorcycle brand that has been in continuous operation ever since its inception. Originally a British company, Royal Enfield had set up its office on our shores in 1955. It’s been a long time since then and over the years, Royal Enfield has launched quite a few models. While a lot of their bikes have been pretty popular, there are several models by the company that are now lost in the pages of history. So today, let’s take a stroll through the company’s past and check out few such Royal Enfield two-wheelers that are no longer remembered by the masses.

Royal Enfield Fury

Fury 175

The Royal Enfield Fury 175 was launched in India back in 1959. It was essentially a rebadged version of Zundapp KS175. Zundap was a German manufacturer that became defunct in 1984. Due to its German linkage, the Fury 175 became quite popular among the automobile enthusiasts across India. The Fury 175 came with a five-speed transmission and front disc brake from Brembo. The engine also came with a sleeveless hard chromed cylinder barrel that was a brilliant piece of engineering.

Royal Enfield Explorer 50

Compared to the usual Royal Enfield bikes, the Explorer 50 seemed quite quirky. The reason behind this was that the Explorer 50 was another rebadged bike from the Zundapp brand. It was only available here for a brief period in 1980. In Germany, the bike was sold to the Mokick license holders that were meant for the 16-year olds. It was powered by a 50cc engine that was mated to a 3-speed transmission.

Royal Enfield Lightning

Royal Enfield Lightning

The Thunderbird is a popular bike from Royal Enfield but the manufacturer sold a similar cruiser way back from the time when Thunderbird was launched. Called the Lightning, this bike can be termed as the spiritual predecessor of the Thunderbird. The Lightning did not gain much popularity though and because of the same, it was discontinued in 2003. Powering the bike was a 535cc single-cylinder engine that produced a maximum of 26 Bhp and 38 Nm. It came with a 4-speed transmission, and the bike could go up to 125 km/h.

Royal Enfield Silver Plus

We bet you didn’t see this one coming. This step-through bike was launched during the 80s. Called the Silver Plus, the bike was launched at a time when step-through concept was gaining popularity. The Royal Enfield Silver Plus was one of the first step-through motorcycles in India. It had a hand-operated cable linked gear shifter. Powering the motorcycle was a 65-cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with a two-speed transmission which was later upgraded to a three-speed transmission. The step-through was manufactured with assistance from Zundapp.

Royal Enfield Fantabulous

Royal Enfield introduced the Fantabulous to gain a share of the growing scooter market in India. Yes, Royal Enfield also made a scooter but it never became too popular in the market. A 175-cc, 2-Stroke engine powered it from Villiers and it churned out a maximum of 7.5 Bhp. It also featured a self-starter, which was a rare thing even in bikes in those days.

Royal Enfield Taurus

The Royal Enfield Taurus holds the honour of being the only mass-produced diesel engine motorcycle of India. That’s right, the Tauras was powered by a diesel engine which was a 325-cc, single-cylinder unit with Lombardini indirect injection. This engine churned out a maximum power of 6.5 Bhp along with 15 Nm of peak torque. It could only go up to a top speed of 65 km/h due to its heavyweight of 196 kg. The bike featured an engine from Greaves-Lombardini and was popularly known as ‘Diesel Bullet’ among enthusiasts.

Royal Enfield Mofa

Another one of Royal Enfield almost unheard two-wheelers is the Mofa, which was a light-weight suspension-less 25-cc moped. The Mofa marked Royal Enfield’s entry in the moped segment of India. It was designed in Italy by Morbidelli and was the smallest capacity motorcycle ever produced by Royal Enfield in India. As seen in the image above, the Mofa had a single tube design which made it look more like a motorized bicycle than anything else.

Meet the REBEL: Hot looking bobber based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350

$
0
0

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the best selling bike for the Chennai based manufacturer. Its retro styling and signature silencer note are among the major factors why it is so popular. Another reason why many youngsters buy it is to modify the bike, for which the Classic 350 is a great bike. Now Dirt Machine Custom Motorcycles have created a wild-looking bobber styled bike based on the Classic 350  which is mesmerising and overpowering at the same time. Painted in all black, this custom made bobber took around 45 days to get completed. Before we discuss more details of this build, take a good look at the bike and enjoy this beauty through these images.

Re Mod 5

Called the Rebel, this Royal Enfield Classic 350 based bobber is more wild than gorgeous. It looks like an outcast which has been destined to be a rebel, and hence the name. As one could probably make out by the images here, the ground clearance of the bike has been reduced for that typical bobber stance. The engine has not been tinkered with but has been painted all black to match the rest of the bike.

Re Mod 4

The front end has been equipped with twin-pod headlamps stacked vertically with a frame that seems to be dotted by silver metal pieces in order to give a badass look to the front end. Both the front and the rear rims are black powder-coated steel rims with 80 spokes setup. The rims are shod on with Michelin Pilot 120/70/19 on the front and Michelin Scorcher 150/80-16 at the rear.

Re Mod

The stock front forks have been replaced by upside-down units now with black paint on them. The handlebars and the single-piece instrument cluster pod are aftermarket units as is the single piece crash guard to give extra protection to the bike’s frame and the rider in case of an accident. Braking duties are done by disc brakes at both the ends with a four-piston caliper at the front and a single-piston caliper at the rear. Apart from the all-black paint job, this bike also features custo graphics and decals at several places like the rear fender and the fuel tank.

Re Mod 3

The fuel filler cap has been positioned on the side now. A single piece saddle has been added for enhanced bobber appeal.
